I only crack down because, unless it's ABUNDANTLY clear that it's a joke (in which case I'd prefer it be in the offtopic forum), new users to the forums will either be put off by the fact that "we're so mean to each other", or will join in by harassing others because "everyone else does it".

There is never any harm in jokes as long as all involved parties are ok with it. And on a public forum, EVERYONE is an involved party.
To some, her ability to well-moderate these forums may seem a little harsh or hardass. I appreciate it.
