    Default My first team

    Hi,

I'm planning on create my first team for boxing, but I don't exactly know what to do. Some help would be greatly welcome.

I want make a team which will can PvE in all Heroic instances, but I also want do some PvP for fun (mainly BGs, I hate arena).

I saw a lot of 5-boxing shams elem team which can perfectly handle these tasks, but I think I prefer mix many class.
So I'm thinking of a team with 4xsham elems and 1x prot pally, with the ability to use my pally to go in high end instance and my 4 shams to do some PvP together.
    Or maybe 1xprotpaly, 3xsham elem and 1xpriest ... I don't know

I saw a thread where differents compositions "holy trinity" are listed, but are there all efficient ?

Another question is : Is that a must to have 5 chars, or 4 are sufficient ? (need another guy for heroic ?)

As you can see I am a little lost. Whether you advise for a first team ? Am I in the right way ?
Sorry in advance if my english seems a little crappy :S

5 shaman work well together well for heroics, normal 5 mans and are great at pvp.

4 shaman and a pally work well for heroics, normal 5 mans and are great at pvp ( but 4 shamans aren't going to be better than 5).

You could spec one of the shaman to resto if you wanted to have a dedicated healer.
Team: Feral Druid, 3 Ele Shaman, 1 Resto Shaman

    Gimp Team: 4 paladins(13) and a DK(80)
    Kierlay,kierlee,kieree,kierla and Karatesh

I'm new here (hi all!) and am at about the same point as you.

After a whole week(!) of trying I finally have 4 additional accounts upgraded to full (no thanks to appalling support from Blizzard's billing department), and plan to make my first team tonight.

I've been giving team composition a fair amount of thought lately, and whittled the choices down to either 5 shamans or 4 shamans + 1 paladin.

I think I've finally settled on 5 shamans, mainly because it's bound to be much simpler controlling 5 of the same class. My thoughts are that, should I require a dedicated tank eventually, I can use the RaF level donation system to give me a free level 60 paladin later. And by that point I should have ironed out all the basic issues with multi-boxing, so I'll just have to work out how to control 2 different classes.Well that's the theory anyway!

I'm looking forward to getting home and trying it out!

I was thinking the same way, up 5 shamans and use the RaF level donation system to up a paladin in the same time.

That will certainly be what I'll finally do

    I'll try this weekend

    Some thoughts:

Pally+4xShamans is much, much more manageable for heroics. 5xShamans is definitely workable, but it requires a lot of finesse, whereas the Pally tank makes things much easier.

4xShamans is a great PvP setup... you don't need to go to 5xShamans for fun and effectiveness in BGs. In fact, given the choice, many of us would rather have just 4-- you don't gain that much killing power with a 5th, and you definitely concentrate more characters at one location which can be bad in almost all BGs (AV being the one exception).

If you're single-computer multi-boxing, I'd recommend going with Pally+4xShamans for PvE and just quad shammies for PvP, unless you have a real beast of a machine. 4x Accounts on a quad core is a great setup, but 5x clients going in a BG like AV can start to be tough on a PC.
    Cranky old-timer.

Thanks for your feedback Boylston, your arguments are wise.

I will follow your advice, I'm looking forward to test
