    Default Jamba Heals

I posted awhile ago asking if it was possible to use the jamba team frames as a healbot/grid/whatever for click healing. The answer to that question was, no it can't, but it can target the player.

OK, I thought about that for awhile and was thinking this would be such a simple function to add to jamba and a question I see a lot in the forums about team healing.

I had an idea of how this could work and was even going to attempt to make the change in jamba but the techniques used in his code are beyond me. So, Im simply going to throw out my view/idea and see if anyone out there with the know how would take up the torch, or shot me down one or the other.

The jamba team frame is already click-able, hence that you can use it to target a character. So it is already interpreting mouse clicks; probably no right/left/middle but it could. If healing was turn on then when a toon was clicked jamba would send a message out on the shared team channel. All team members would see this(a hook would have to be added to watch for heal requests). Jamba already has a mechanism that allows certain team members to participate in certain events, so all non-healers would ignore the message and toons that are configured within jamba to watch for heal request would then trigger.

Here is where I may get some slack feedback. Since you cannot use cast within code this restricts what I want to accomplish to macros. Within a macro you can cast and this is where I see this working. Now, taking a 5 team boxer as an example AND with 3 possible types of heal; triggered by left, middle & right mouse buttons. You would require 15 macros. One macro per toon per heal type. I don't think 15 is that many...but maybe you do. Anyway, the heal message would require 3 pieces of information, something to indicate its a heal request and not a settings update, the toon to be healed and the type of heal. So, something like this "heal Jonboy left". "heal" marks it a heal request, "Jonboy" the toon to heal and "left" the type, left mouse button was clicked. With that information the proper heal macro would execute. Since you would have 15 macros, 5 for left mouse button, 5 for middle and 5 for right with one entry for each toon.

So good idea...??? or I can't believe this noob spelled his name right to register with this site...

I believe Jaflua has said several times now that this is crossing over into the realm of unitframes and that he didn't want to go there. I don't know if he has changed his stance or not, but it would take awhile for this kind of functionality added to Jamba to match the caliber of HealBot or Vuhdoo or other such addons.

    ^ This.

And Jamba cannot press macros either, you need to do the key pressing / mouse clicking when it comes to spells.

Here is a post on how to setup isboxer and healbot so you can heal from your tank using clicks. Muffin uses repeater regions, but I use click bars, see my post halfway down (after Lax's explanation) as the click bars don't suffer from modifier (shift, ctrl, alt) taint.

Hope that helps and thanks for contributing @Taborious

Nope, addons cannot press the Trade button for you.

When checking the 'ignore soulbound' box, is it suppose to hide the soulbound items? bacause if not then I think it should

Also I have noticed some icons are not showing, they show the default wow icon instead

Great addon I must say. What would be good is if we could have a tooltip that shows that toon x has this amount of said item (kind of what altoholic does but better lol). would save a hassle when looking for regents, etc
No, sorry there is no way to remove stuff you have already traded. You will have Swap to the other character and manually remove it.

Ignore soulbound is for the loading of the items, not the showing of the items. I'm not going to change that.

The icons that don't show are not there because your character has never seen that item before. Rather than leaving that spot blank, I put the WoW icon there instead. If anyone knows the path to the question mark icon, I'd love to know it.

The items are sorted by class/sub class, so you should be able to see all of x in a row and each stack will have the number of items in it displayed. Sorry, I'm probably not going to add any of the functionality you requested anytime soon.

Glad you like the addon and thanks for your feedback!

    Jafula,

I understand that jamba cant pass macros but my suggestion isnt passing macros. The person would have to setup the macros on the healers toon. I used healing to demonstrate may idea, but, my solution isnt just healing its passing information to another toon on the team to execute a macro based on information being passed.

So, instead of "heal Jonboy left" it could be something like "** Jonboy left"(** denoting a click event message, instead of the word heal). simply meaning that some member of the team left clicked on Jonboy. Now what happens on the listener that receives that message is all dependent on how the person has coded the macro. One could write the macro to heal, but, could write it to execute ANY valid macro, change focus, follow, mount, etc... Jamba would only pass the information to the shared channel, and have someway to allow a toon to listen for requests from the channel. Within Jamba, on a new config page "Jamba Listen" or whatever simply have 3 text windows, one assigned to "left", one assigned to "middle" and one to "right" in the textbox someone could enter the macro name to execute when its received. Again, the person would have to write said macro though, jamba would only pass "triggers"

If this is just not something you want jamba to do I fully understand and will drop the subject, just thought i'd elaborate on my idea since I used it in a touchie context of healing.

It's not that I don't like your idea, its the fact that it cannot be implemented. Blizzard don't let addons cast spells, click macros, move, etc.

Even if Jamba passed a message, Jamba cannot do anything with the message. You still need to press a key/click for a macro, spell, move to work.

What you're asking for is impossible.

If addons could trigger macros, people could use them for automation. They can already read the state of procs, buffs/debuffs and cooldowns, so if they could trigger macros too, then they could do all of your casting for you.

There are already unit frames that work fine while multiboxing. There is already plenty of multiboxing software that can handle remote click casting.
    WoW had a Cataclysm.
    I quit.

Now 3-boxing EVE until CCP mess that up.
