Debate: Four Wow installations or 1?

Some people seem to recommend actually having wow in four different installation locations. can someone point me to a discussion of this or explain the argument for doing that?

I've mostly been running things fine with four accounts using the same installation.... does this just mean my computer is more powerful? (I get usually 20-33fps on all screens, I did have all the graphics maxed out but one day my first account was strangely sluggish so I turned them all down in a couple of places)

The only reason to load from multiple installs is so yeh can have different setup/config file.

loading from multiple installs will slow yer system down.
