(38-13, 1806 rating) Arena Week Observations for 8-11-08

So not much change in rating over the last couple of weeks. But instead of ending high this week, I ended low. Rather than stop at our 1891 peak we decided to keep playing because we /drool over S3 Shoulders.

We also took more losses than normal. My healer had some sort of surgery and was on some stuff stronger than morphine. As l33T as he is, those meds took their toll on our rating, lol. It was to be expected and I think after I get my S3 maces this week, it will help with the occasional runner who gets away with 1% health. I added [Blood Fury] into the nuke and man what a difference. 4 shotting someone with an insant cast is funny! Just like Ellay I keep Blood Fury off my main and I dont notice a difference at all.

I was a little impatient this week and not as focused so it showed in the rating. We consistently lost the first round against teams and then continued to pummel them two more times and then they'd quit que. I also learned the downside of having a high rating, these fluke/lack of focus losses cost 22-27pts a game. I dont mind the points loss, but I spend the rest of my time playing against teams for 3-4 pts. It would help if I could play against people of equal rating.

I did get some great games in against a full S3/S4 where 4/5 were "Gladiators." This team had been handing it to me for the last month. Its a Eurocomp and I'd been successful usually on the first attempt against them and then they would fine tune their strat and continue to farm me all night long. I always put pressure on the mage and used to get tunnel vision in fear that the mage would nuke me down in 2 spells. This week I continued to apply pressure to the mage and Dpriest. Keeping the Dpriest at 50% allowed me to keep bloodlust up (no dispells when he's running for his life) and spread the dmg around to keep him busy healing when he's not running away. I was also much better this week at stopping rezzes. Only 1team succesfully rezzed a player.

Also whoever gave me the rez your dead guy macro, ty! Stopping 4 people rezzing is impossible to stop. I successfully rezzed my gusy 4 times.

Like I said before not a whole lot happening in terms of rating but playing a the 1800 bracket isfun!

Boylston, the way i do it:
bind a key for rez on all ur chars.
then, having in mind u have - /assist main /cast xxxx | u are able to target it and then use the rez keybind.

u can use an offensive spell in ur dead guy, its just for targeting

OMG, please post the "rez your dead guy" macro!!

I love mine, I use F1-F5 to single target heal, F1 heals my main, F2-F4 each targets a clone, and F5 heals my healer.

So in each macro I have

/target Shaggir
/cast [nodead] Lesser Healing Wave; [dead] Ancestral Spirit
/targetlasttarget

And, for those who don't know, usually they've backed off by that point, I usually burn a bloodlust to make it a 6sec rezz instead of 10. Good luck trying to stop that on 3 or 4 characters. With this macro, it's also really easy to rezz someone WHILE people are beating on you too. Let combat drop on a one or two, hit the button (they'll rezz if out of combat) and those in combat will continue the pew pew.
