Press Alt and then left click to move it. It's the item bar and can be turned of under the settings.

I turned off the item bar in settings (are you sure it's not a quest bar of some kind?) and it's still there after reloading the ui.

that is part of the quest log ui, are you sure you have the latest version of EMA?

Ok I see that there's a Classic version of the addon and a retail version. I got the Classic one and it's working much more as would be expected. Thanks for the prompt replies.
