It'll be hard to justify more than 2pc ZG tier raiding as a resto shaman. Especially since the neck and the trinket are so trash. I was really hoping enhancement would be viable with some stun weapons. I trust your analysis though on it's viability. Do you think I should stay enhance at least until I'm 60?

My main concerns was dealing with Melee at 60. Maybe I underestimate dagger + flametongue and shock at 60 against slippery LoSing melee.

for sure its rather a long term goal especially on multiple toons, however I have no doubt that 4 5boxers are able to clear zg at some point with preraid bis gear (unless you run with 10+elementals) ...maybe the tank should have some MC gear but its not that hard otherwise.

So for leveling I'm confident now that a team of elementals is faster in dungeon grind and outdoor at 40+. Enhancement is just as mana dependent since if you only autohit you got to heal eventually too so you might aswell spend mana on a volley lightning bolts. Plus int gear also comes with spirit occasionally which improves manareg after the 5 sec rule too. What elemental suffers most from imo (compared to mages) is the lack of hit/resist reduce talents so you should keep in mind running dungeons where mobs are at or below your level (which should be obvious but even more important for ele than others).

At level 60 you have a bunch of options to play this combo in pvp, 1h shield enh/elemental with avoidance talents (dodge, armor) and reduced shock cd, eventually with 2.7 speed weapon and wf or <2.0 speed flametongue, that is probably the most viable melee melee team. You could then either pick stormstrike and always rotate ss and double earth shock (ss doesnt stack), or play 21/30/0 for double spell crit damage and play with mail sp gear instead of going for melee stats. Or you skip the melee damage in late enhance tree and go 31/20/0 with more casting but still being able to deal moderate damage when oom. Either way I'd play it in a way where I carry a shield so you dont have to worry about melees as much, ultimately the aq20 shield with the silience procc is going to be the best one (and its boe). The standard ele/resto spec is superior against caster though as healing focus allows you get heals off against aoe bombing and you get the pvp hitcap and more crit. If you want to try 2h enhancement, get the 4.0 speed axe from lbrs and use rockbiter on it, stormstrike and switch to a fast 1h shield with flametongue to finish him off (speaking for one shaman now, i doubt ppl survive 5x stormstrike from that thing as its 5x2(ss+auto hit)x600+ white hit dmg in bad gear)

Other than that there are some fun items you can toy around, like having 5x the dark iron hammer with 8 sec stun procc or giving one shaman the zul farak 1h mace which has that mini thunderfury procc, slowing the attack speed of 4 enemys by 10% (probably quite helpful for tanking dungeons too). 5x engineering obviously opens a whole new world of harassing ppl aswell.
