    As someone that went 5 shamans to start and is still lv 41 despite consistently leveling.... go 1 priest 4 locks. I love shamans, they're my favorite class but it was a mistake to make that my first team.

    That said, Shamans are a ton better in WPvP.

    Another 5-man shaman team here. I'm only level 34.5 despite having over 5 days played time. What's kept me entertained through this grind has been WPvP as Zal mentioned. It's been a bloodbath outside of SM every time I zone out to reset, and it's been a blast partaking in it. It gets better when you hit 30 and get WF, then better again when you get Chain Lightning but it's slow for sure. I've killed 3,000 mobs in the last 30 hours of play time according to my xp meter...all one at a time, unlike the AoE groups. If you're willing to grind the shamans are a good choice.
