Can you explain this? People are getting banned for farming mobs?

No, people are having their accounts actioned for standing in place and looking just like a bot. When you look and act like a bot, people report you for looking and acting like a bot—it's incredible how those two things go hand-in-hand.

I will also add that hyper-spawn farming is, without a doubt, unintended gameplay, seeing as Blizzard continues to nerf these areas every time they become popular.

    Possible chain of events:

    • Player plays game normally.
    • Player gets bored.
    • Player identifies <something> that yields abnormally high rates of <item>s or gold if farmed rapidly.
    • Player tries farming <something>.
    • Player experiences boredom but acknowledges the lucrative nature of farming the <something>.
    • Player hears about multiboxing.
    • Player rubs brain cell 1 against brain cell 2 and *LIGHT BULB* "Hey, if I did this x5 then even if I'm bored I will only have to be bored 20% as long for the same benefit. Plus I can farm better <something>s."
    • Player gets more accounts and multiboxing software.
    • Player runs over to farm <something> x5.
    • Player gets bored 80% faster than with single account.
    • Player rubs brain cells together again and *LIGHT BULB* "Hey, I can just stand here and watch Netflix and not even pay attention and just press like 2 keys over and over and be 90% as effective. WIN"
    • ...several days later...
    • [NEW POST] "Hey so like I'm standing there farming <something> like just pressing buttons and watching Netflix like every1 else rite and then BAM like all my toons are banned even my girlfriend's account I was using and IDK it's crazy man like WTF is Blizzard thinking I pay them so freakin much money a month. Anyone else been banned farming <something>s lately?"

Considering the number of forum posts that follow almost the exact same format, it's frankly amazing how many people keep getting onto the same carousel.

I believe there is another chain and its the only thing I have come up with as to the reason people farm hyper spawns or farm in general with many accounts. Although I am not sure I want to share it. I could link it though

Well Corlain Aviary by the falconers was nice, but by the time I started boxing it has been nerfed. That was probably the best spot in the whole game. I did notice a hyperspawn spot at the Tiragarde side of Anglepoint Wharf. In between the building and the ship, right where the bugged seagull is. They are those little mind flayers, so I don't know if they drop anything useful, but they spawn instantly.
