Don't. It's not always obvious. Consider also that some of us have been playing hunters (and other classes) for nigh on a decade now.

Haha, thanks. I mained hunter for years but dropped off when queue times grew so long I couldn't get a queue + do a dungeon in my spare time, and went mostly healers/tanks for a couple of expansions.

I edited my post to add, though, that MM hunters can take Spirit Bond too. So then theoretically you could have MM hunters with Chimera Shot healing 2% as well as the 2% healing from Spirit Bond. However, that kinda kicks Lone Wolf in the teeth, as while huntering you'd rely on your pets, so BM is still probably the most viable choice for a 5-man of hunters.

My farm teams have a few that are setup as MM hunter spec + sBond. I love the burst of MM, but the steady dmg of BM just feels smooth.

6 in one hand, or half a dozen in another.

I will say that my few pvp encounters I have had while leveling hunters (a 3x hunter pack) MM hunters dropped the opposition like it was their job...

    Nice one.

I'm currently not playing - therefore anyone can tell me (in 2-3 short sentences) why everyone is currently switching to hunters instead of warlocks?
Warlock pets had been great for soloing, with a solid amount of self heal (embers) as destruction, healthstones, the ability to instant resurrect your demon and soulstones to resurrect a dead toon.

I'm pretty sure it just comes down to:

    A) Damage output is very high
    B) Pets can easily be tanks since they generally (always?) take reduced damage (especially on boss mechanics) (may need to be corrected on this one, I don't play Hunters )
Do not send me a PM if what you want to talk about isn't absolutely private.
Ask your questions on the forum where others can also benefit from the information.

From what I understand, they do tank things that a slightly undergeared tank might struggle to survive against. Furthermore pet ress is such a fast cast now that as long as you macro it in to have it cast when one dies, you're unlikely to run in to a situation where all of them would be dead at the same time.

Additionally hunters just generally do more damage, basically all of which can be applied while on the move, indefinitely and are somewhat easier to set up functional rotations for.

All of this, but especially the bold part. I farmed Timeless Isle with my undergeared hunters while watching raid-geared tanks struggle with some of the named encounters. Couple that with glyphed Misdirect and it's really that awesome.
