FWIW, I've found that interact-with-target does actually work with hunters, just not all the time. It seems to be distance-dependent - it only seems to work when the hunter is close to the target. I've used it in "panic mode" at times, where the team leader dies (often unsuccessfully), but follow works better most of the time.

Hmm weird, my hunter is almost always in melee range because he is my only ranged and is usually on follow and I've never had him IWT in combat. He is in my melee ATG so the IWT spam is spamming him also, but the follow mechanic works. I switch to my hunter to position him sometimes but mostly he just follows and kills stuff dead.

This is probably starting to get a bit off-topic but I have a bit more data on this, I think. I haven't been playing hunters lately (I have 5 at 80+, I'll go back to them after my RAF benefits expire), but my mages are showing similar behavior with IWT, only it seems a bit more quantifiable. With the mages, if I hit the IWT key and they're outside casting range (the question remains casting range of what, as not all spells have the same range), they'll move towards the target. In my warrior/priest/mage team, if I set everyone on a target and hit IWT, the warrior and sometimes the mages will advance towards the target. If I'm spamming my "attack" key which on the warrior does a "charge", but on the mages does a Fire Blast, the mages will stop and do fire blast at about the same time as the warrior charges. Charge has a 25yd range, Fire Blast has a 30 yd range, FWIW.

If the mages are within melee range, they also seem to turn and face the target. If instead they are somewhere between melee and out of range, they don't do anything. You have to use follow to get them to turn around. You know, that makes me think that on my own team I need to set up a follow macro that only sets the mages on follow and not the tank, but that's my own stuff.

    Anyway, in summary:
out of range => IWT turns and approaches
melee range => IWT turns and engages in melee combat
in "casting" range but out of melee range => IWT will close and engage in melee combat for melee classes with melee weapons. Non-melee classes or non-melee weapons may do nothing.

At least that's been my observation :-)
