Also just noticed that atm on beta you can queue for cata heroics up to level 87 so that should also be a fast leveling method for people that already have them on farm. Do some of Jade Forest for initial upgrades then back to farming cata to 88 before heading back to MoP. Will also allow you to leave at least one MoP zone undone before max level to give extra gold farming.

Couldn't agree with MiRai more. I saw those massive XP drops when I was doing my little "leveling without touching Cata content" experiment. It was really painful to watch the XP peter out to nothing like that.

@mulibocks, I having been craving old school AV games, I have even been constantly summoning ivus and gryphon riders in the last few games. Next on my list is the rams!!
Just a shame that those NPCs aren't as powerful compared to players as they used to be
