    Default Multiboxing - Boosting or Leveling? RAF Setup?

    Hey, I have two quick questions...

    1. How should I set up RAF? A>B>C and A>D>E, OR A>B>C>D>E?

    2. Should I boost B, C, D, and E with my level 85 mage on account A? Or should I level A, B, C, D, E from scratch via dungeons and questing?

    Any other tips appreciated, thanks!

    My opinion on this is rather different from everyone else's so please keep that in mind.

    When I RaF'd I had accounts A & B, so what I did was A > C > D, B > E. This gave my "main account" more free toons than the secondary.

    As for boosting or not MY OPINION is no. Most people will tell you to boost A > B > C and A > D > E. I personally leveled thru LFD and learned how to multibox before I reached 85. The cata dungeons are very difficult to multibox and if you haven't learned the basic's of what to do then its even more difficult.

    That being said while you have RaF you wanna level as many toons as possible because leveling post RaF sucks.

    I also didn't go the 5x comps, I am weird and did 5 different classes on all my teams. These are my opinions and they are not shared in the community from what all I have read about RaFing. I think I am a better boxer for leveling my teams together, but that is my opinion and its really only worth 2 cents.

    Thank you for the response. However, let's say I do not want to base this on 'skill' and more-so on which would level my toons to 85 faster...

    Dungeon boosting with an 85 mage, or 5x accounts questing and doing dungeons? For leveling as quick as possible.

    Boosting has always, and will always be the fastest method of leveling when RaF is active granted you are a competent booster and have a geared character to boost with.

    Not always MiRai. When I was levelling my 2nd team of shamans, By joining the LFG tool, I would get double the end completion bonus for some reason. I think it was a bug. Simply put, that xp bonus you get for completing a random dungeon, that tripled due to RaF and i got it twice. At lower lvls this was INSANE xp and I went up a huge amount of levels for a 10 minute stocks run.

    So for a very small niche, boosting wasnt the fastest haha.

    I was only answering his question from a general standpoint (like he asked). The record (with no screenshot proof) stands at about 20 hours from 1 to 81 through boosting. If anyone has a better time using the LFD tool... I ask that they post it.

    So I think I am going to do the boosting.

    But I still need input on how I should setup RAF...

    A>B>C and A>D>E or A>B>C>D>E?

    I'm thinking of A>B>C>D>E for the free months on ABCD, and for the rocket mounts on ABCD, but the other one would give me extra levels on my main account?

    Here's a video I made back back in the day. The linking account portion still holds true... the rest of it pretty much doesn't anymore (one day soon™ I'll redo the video for new level 80 RaF).

    If you go with:
    A > B > C > D > E

    You end up with granted toons on every account, except account E.
    Which is good, if you have a lot of toons on the existing account A.

    If you go with:
    A > B > C
    A > D > E

    You end up with a lot of granted levels on A, and some on B/D, with none on C/E.
    If you have a booster on A, but very little else than this is a great method; that could be the case, if you transferred a booster with gold and heirlooms to a new server with other boxers... and then set up RAF there.

    You would use "A" to boost BCDE.
    Because there are "two-hops" in the RAF chain (two chains, but two hops in either chain), you need to level 2^2 characters for granted levels to cascade exactly.
    So boost four toons on BCDE, with A, and granted levels work out perfectly.

    C/E each give two toons (from 2nd to 80th), to B/D.
    B/D each give two toons (from 2nd to 80th), to A.
    B/D each received two toons from C/E, meaning they can each give one more toon to A.

    A ends up receiving six full toons from granted levels.
    B/D receive two from granted, plus the four from being boosted.
    C/E each have the four that were boosted.

    Unlike the A > B > C > D > E chain... four toons works out exactly, and any even number of toons works out better.

    In my experience, boosting is the fastest leveling method.
    It always work the same, and is not reliant on bugs/cracks in the system.

    Put the higher mage in with the lowbies.
    And Arcane explosion your quest mobs for kills or collections.
    Have the slaves IWT with the corpses, on collections.

    Ignore the reduced experience for kills, because of the 85 in your party.
    Turn in quests 8-10x faster than soloing with the lowbies, and get 3x the experience on the quests.

    Once you can enter instances (level 10), switch to that.
    Park the lowbies at zin (zone in).
    Gather a bunch of mobs with the high level and kill them near the lowbies.
    Move the lowbies up.
    Repeat.
    Reset the instance, and go again.

    Also you can "master loot" with the booster.
    Set the slaves to pass on loot.
    Set the loot threshold to say Uncommon/Green.
    Things will sparkle, if they have a green to master loot.
    But otherwise will not sparkle with only cloth/greys on the corpses.

    I know this is an old thread but it's one of the most useful post I found when I did a Google search so I wanted to add to it.

    A > B > C > D > E
    Pros
    You can end up with high level characters on B and C.
    Over all, gifts the most levels
    Cons
    The level that are given are spread out in places where they might not be useful
    Of all the options this gives the least levels to your main account

    A > B > D
    A > C > E
    Pros
    Gives the most levels to your main account.
    Cons
    Not many levels given in total, very few given to any other account.

    A > B > C
    B > D
    B > E
    Pros
    Gives a high number of levels to the main account. (not quite the most)
    Gives nice number of levels to the 'B' account
    Cons
    Does not give any levels to 3 of the accounts.

    I think the 3ed option is the best. If you set it up so C,D,E are your DPS then it gives you options for your tank and healer. And it gives you a lot of characters on your main account so if you stop multiboxing you are still left with high level characters.

    I made a spreadsheet to work out what I would need to level. My main account already has some high level alts and I planned on power levelling an 85 and 22 character. Then this is what I get before and after gifting levels:

    using A>B>C>D>E
    A 90 80 70 6 -> 90 85 85 85
    B 85 22 1 1 -> 85 85 31 1
    C 85 22 1 1 -> 85 85 18 1
    D 85 22 1 1 -> 85 64 12 1
    F 85 22 1 1 -> 85 22 1 1

    using A>B>D, A>C>E
    A 90 80 70 6 -> 85 85 85 85 62
    B 85 22 1 1 -> 85 64 12 1
    C 85 22 1 1 -> 85 64 12 1
    D 85 22 1 1 -> 85 22 1 1
    E 85 22 1 1 -> 85 22 1 1

    using A>B>C, B>D, B>E
    A 90 80 70 6 -> 90 85 85 85 34
    B 85 22 1 1 -> 85 85 85 13
    C 85 22 1 1 -> 85 22 1 1
    D 85 22 1 1 -> 85 22 1 1
    E 85 22 1 1 -> 85 22 1 1
