I'm not sure what quests you did, but i don't go out of my way to do any of the base defense kill quests. These happen slowly with the zone invasions.

Right now for me, there are two Kelari faction dailies. One is at Talos landing and the other is in Attia. These are simple and take maybe 5 minutes. Then there are a bunch of Keeper's faction quests in Ember Watch. Doing them all, including the kelari ones take me less then an hour. The learning curve on EI is kinda slow, but once you do the quests they become alot easier.

With any of the quests that let you interact with targets, drag the quest items onto your bar (I personally like 0). There is one kelari quest in Attia that requires you to examine corpses with 1 of 3 different items. Drag one item to each of your chars and go to town. Same for the barrel quest in Talos landing.

Whenever there is a zone invasion in ipp or ss, I try to make sure i grab the kill rift creatures and close rift quests. Pays for the ports

One other rule of thumb for me. I only runebreak items less then 15g, anything over that gets vendored for the cash.

    Runebreaking is your rune crafter?
From what I see, the dailies are all over EI?

    Yes to the runebreaking.

The easy dailies are in Ember Watch and the faction towns after you finish the main quest line for the island. The ports on the island only cost 1g, so use them as much as possible.

Most of the ones you see scattered around the island are "Onslaught" quests, which require you to the kill invading mobs. They take too long to concentrate on.

So as an update, I have 4 dailies in Ember Isle that make some plat (really roll of the dice with the bag loot).
I also leveled up 2 more miners for the cooldown and also leveled Apothecary which is making quite a bit of money by breaking down planar essences.
Long story short, I am finally getting to a place where I am able to spend less time trying to make plat and more time playing other aspects of the game without running out of plat lol.
