Thread: Rog Specs

  1. #1

    Default Rog Specs

I am running our of coin, so I am going dust off my 40ish rogs and go farm RIfts. They have all been refunded their talent points. And I know I had a good rift farming spec going.. I think it was mostly ranger with bard and MM in there. Can you recommend a good spec for 5 rogs at 41-42ish? I know some of you have played this team to 50, so was just looking for adive from a boxer perspective. Thx!

I do know that going heavy bard is great for support.. but I remember it being crappy DPS.. My ranger Spec seemed OP with the AE. Have things changed a lot? Its been about 6 months since i played my rogs.

Just one point into "Hasten Call" effectively doubles the health of your pet, since you can resummon your pet instantly if it dies during a fight and you get a new one with a full health bar - it's an instant full heal on a 2 minute cooldown.

My preference is this build: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0M...oos.Vcdm0qo.Vh

    Gets you:
AoE damage finisher and combo-point group heal (awesome) and the healing/buff bonuses from bards.
AoE (Rain of Arrows) and pet tanking/DPS abilities from ranger.
Significant bonuses to damage output (especially bard abilities) from Nightblade.

Then I make one of the 5 this spec: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0M...cbMVqs0V.Vhx0h

    Gets you:
Bard healing + resonance + Anthem of Fervor. <-- AoF is critical IMO as with this build it reduces everyone's energy use by 13%.
    Damage bonuses from Nightblade.
You can't get enough pet points at this level to get AoF & Rain of Arrows so there isn't any point in taking ranger, IMO.

With the above 4+1 setup, running 3 pigs and a wolf, I was invincible in major rifts and nearly invincible in elite zone invasion events. And raids for invasions will LOVE your constant group healing (I shift to using bard-only abilities in invasions).

Thx a lot.. that looks good. What is your spec at 50? Bad news is I was bragging that i could 5 box on my laptop..well i can.. but not in any zone that has an active event going on.. i was so laggy just a few mins ago I could not move. When the zone is not so full..im ok. Ill have to wait a few more weeks to build my new PC..so until then I guess ill stick with the noobs.

    Exactly.

Set up my main attack macro:

    cast [alt] motif of awesomeness
    cast cadence

    Then:

Step 1 (the motif cast) = do not advance for .8 secs (just to make sure it goes off if I'm spamming a bit)
Step 2 (normal attack) = do not advance. Period.
Advanced = Reset to step 1 eight seconds after the first keypress.

Works like a champ, though if you're really spamming the shit out of your key and you're lagging, it will sometimes not fire.

its really up to what you want more damage or more healing. faster you kill less healing you needed and more exp. from i have seen there is very little aoe healing needed in a raid in zone a events nothing that 5 cadences could not fix. found that in raid there are a lot of people that have passive heal that there next to nothing for a healer to do.

As for anthem of fervor not a real help to rogues specifically with the the up regent rate in last patch. AOF has its place but most fights do not last long enough for it to come in to effect.

but in the end as long as the mobs die and you are having a good time that's all that matters =)

(still a bit tired from the extra life event. hope it makes sences)

In the elite invasions, I've come into raid groups where 4-5 people were already dead and 20% of the rest were steadily losing health. I show up, start spamming cadence and nobody else dies and hardly anyone drops below 80% health the rest of the fight. /shrug

In my experience, using the pigs means you don't have all the tank mitigation, so having full energy to hit the AoE combo heal is critical to living through the experience. Without AoF, I frequently sit at the bottom of the energy bar, making those big-energy abilities unusable during a fight. Guess everyone plays differently.
