Help with setting up Ret Pally dps macros

Was hoping that someone has a good Ret Pally dps setup they can share that works well with 4.2. I haven't played ret since before 4.0 and can't get a good rotation down. Anyone have any /castsequence macros they're willing to share that work? Looking for something that works well with both slaves on /follow and for my main's offspec for solo play.

There are no easie way to manage Ret DPS.
castsequence would never know when your inquisition would fall off. or you got HOL proc.

so the best you can do with castsequence is

castsequence reset=45 judgement, crusader strike, crusader strike, crusader strike, inquisition,crusader strike, crusader strike, crusader strike, templar's verdict, judgement, crusader strike, crusader strike, crusader strike, templar's verdict, crusader strike, crusader strike, crusader strike, templar's verdict


holy wrath not in there, but you can add it anywhere. the dps with this macro is ok. but still far from optimal.

don't use this for solo play. solo play should be manualled. use one of those CLC Ret add-ons, it tells exactly which button to press next.

Thanks Rem, just downloaded one and gonna test it out later. Was looking for a /castsequence that could squeeze Judgement and HW between CSs like I do with AV as a filler for my Prot pally's macro. Anyone know if that CLC addon will work for Prot by chance, or a similar addon for Warrior, Druid, and Death Knight tanking/dps? Haven't run any of them on my main since pre Cata also.

Are you 1-boxing a Ret?
I squeeze everything i can bewteen CS cool downs. Glyph and round robin Holy Wrath for stuns.
Use Seal of Insight and Divine Plea to compansate for Exorcism mana cost.
Go to the Macro and Addon section for more ideas.

I tried out that CLCRet addon, and it helped some. From the list of spells that kept poppin up telling me what to press, I came up with this macro that seems to work well for me. Figured it might help others out as well.

Put Exorcism and Templar's Verdict spells on two separate buttons and press them only when they proc.

With this, I stay full on mana and the added damage from Inquisition stays up at all times. With this setup, there's hardly any downtime between CSs as there are two spells popping off between each. I also use the Exo and TV procs as fillers if CS is still on cooldown.

The following is the same setup, but with Divine Storm in place of CS:

Quick question tho, which I doubt it's possible, but is there a /script or command you can put into a macro that will only cast a spell if it procs? Like Exorcism's instant/free cast when it procs instead of casting it every second it's available that you've got mana?

Thanks Fen. Figured it wasn't possible, but with all the constant changes in each patch, didn't know for sure if this was possible.

It's not possible with spells that are always available, like Exorcism, but it can be done easily with abilities that should be cast on every possible cooldown and have a proc that may reset that cooldown or make it instant cast, for example Starsurge, Mangle (Bear), Pyroblast!, Deep Freeze, etc. You can just use a 2-step dps macro to always be spamming that button along with your main rotation.

I actually do that with alot of my toon's spells Akoko. Prot has a /click macro setup to click a /castsequence I came up with, Avenger's Shield, and Hammer of Wrath all at the same time. Here's his setup:

Single Target Spam Button: on button 1

Mob Spam Button: on button 2

AS procs so much from Hammer of the Righteous and Crusader Strike attacks, that I use it just as much as my HotR/CSs in the sequences. With Inq in there, it boosts the Holy Power damage from it as well allowing me alot of damage management over SotR on mobs. It also makes a good filler on both rotations for any occasion.
