Easiest Composition?

Hello!

I am a new multi-boxer. I tried to 3-box back in 2007 and didn't have much time to do it. But now I would like to give it a serious have-at and see what I can do!

I was wondering what people's opinion would be on the easiest composition to use and learn?

My ultimate goal is to do PVE dungeons, not so much PVP as I don't plan on being a pro anytime soon. I am going to be 5 boxing, I made myself 5 trial accounts just to see if I could do 5 clients and such. I'm able to do it, I fooled around just seeing how hard it was to control 5 characters, and by golly its hard.

I was thinking originally of 4 boxing 4 DK's up to 57 where I have a Shaman who can be a healer. So 4 DK's + 1 Shaman could be a team. How hard is it for a noobie to get the drift on a melee team?

Not really that hard.

First choice is which software to use.
Check out the software forum for that.
I'll recommend IS Boxer, but everyone has their own opinion.

Definitely use the Jamba addon, no matter what software you end up using.

Also go with Recruit a Friend.
Send yourself email invites from an existing account.
Then use the emailed game code to start the account.
And upgrade that account to a retail copy.
Then use the new copy to send out an RAF invite to your own email.
Chain the accounts together.
Get a lot of combinations to 60th, the more the better.
Basically go with 5x The-Same-Class, lots of times.

For PvE, the easiest will be:
1x Tank
1x Heals
3x Ranged DPS

If you want to melee, your toons will be in their opponents AoE/Cleave/Riposte range more often.
But not saying you cannot go with this set up.
You'll want to combine:
- IWT (Interact With Target), which is a game keybind under Targeting Functions
- CTM (Click to Move), which is a mouse option in Interface Options - Mouse.

I'll recommend Grid + Grid Custom Layouts + Clique for healing.
Have those three addons on each account.
Set up your party interface with Grid, so it is alphabetical (or any other fixed order sort that is the same on all screens).
Then use a "Repeater Region" to pass the clicks from any window, to your healer.
And use Clique to interpret the click you do, as a given heal on the target of whoever's frame you clicked on.
It is a lot easier to do in practice than it sounds, when you're starting.. and there are video tutorials of this.

Thanks for the input. I actually forgot about RAF and bought x4 Classic accounts a little while ago. How depressing So no RAF .. I don't think it'll be TOO bad.

On a side note. How do I move the Jamba Team list thing? Its stuck in the middle of my screen and won't let me move it. Thanks

I've tried some different team comps.

DK Blood, Druid resto/Balance, Mage fire, Warlock Demo, Shaman Elemental/Resto(Stopped at 70)
Pally Prot, Druid resto/Balance, Mage fire, Warlock Demo, Shaman Elemental/Resto(85)
Pally Prot, Priest Disc, 3x Elemental Shamans(Still going)
Prot Warrior, Priest Disc, 3x Elemental Shamans(stopped at 80)

The Healer/DPS chars are the same, I just tried different tanks to settle on one.

I have to say of the combinations I have to say Paladin,Disc Priest+3xElemental Shammies are with out a doubt the easiest. I'd go so far to say that with Disc Priest + 3 x Elemental Shammies combo, it doesn't really matter what tank. Gonna level up the DK to try it. The Prot Warrior aint level 85 yet, but at 81.

I'm not all that experienced, but once I get my Pally, Disc +3xShammies to level 85, I'll have a better picture of it. The reason I think it's easier might also be because I have more experience with the instances, better gear, etc.

See if they'll let you restart the accounts, as RAF linked.
If you're polite and get a nice person, you might be able to.
And it doesn't hurt anything to ask.

Chose a team that is able to queue up for instances via dungeon browser. I did alot of instances with weird groups (priest + warlocks or all mages) and having to fly to each instance you want to do is a pain.

When I first started boxing, I did the same thing. Bought the two extra wow accounts and tried linking them to RAF. I called up Blizzard, waited on the line for no more than 2 mins (called first thing in the morning) and it was an easy manner of them closing the old accounts and sending me new codes for the games I bought.

You have to prove your ID though with your birthday, name on the ACCT etc... and possibly one of the existing SN's that you put on the account.

After that, they e-mailed me with the key's to replace the canceled accounts, then all I did, is sent the refer's to myself, started the trials, updated the classic on both, burning crusade on both, then LK on both (this is before cata so you'll need that when you are ready ofcourse). I then put timecards on the accounts, then presto, free mount, free month and I was on my way to 3x the XP and level granting!!!

Thanks to your story and Ulaa's advice, I did manage to call Billing just a few minutes ago. Right at 10am EST exact to catch them not grouchy They helped immensely and linked the accounts appropiately with RAF! I have it set in the chain that Ualaa made on the Wiki. A ( booster ) - B - C -D -E.. not sure if I did it correctly since the thread was confusing.

I referred it liike.. Main to B, B to C, C to D, D to E..

Another quick offtopic question. Once I finish boosting 4 toons, I can make a toon on the booster account and grant 60 levels?

EDIT: I don't think its working. A out of the group and the other 4 are grouped.. They aren't showing any RAF experience gains. I"m not seeing +Xp +RAF xp.. help?
