I didn't see them throw a date out there and aren't they still in Alpha? It seems to me that it's been business as usual with Blizz. They are keeping things under wraps, and being coy about most things Cataclysm... especially the release date. Why would Activision come in a screw up the most successful MMO to date? That would be huge mistake, and I'm sure they understand that. I don't think they're pushing the devs to do anything other than "keep doing what you're doing."

I'm not particularly looking forward to cataclysm. Seems like with the death of the LK, I've hit all the major points in WoW I wanted to. Nothing in cataclysm really makes me feel like I'm getting something new. More dungeons, more raids, etc. I mean, in BC we got the shamans and paladins in opposing factions, and heroic dungeons and badges, and arenas. In WotLK, we got phasing, some awesome plot, and 10-man raid progression.

At this point, it feels like that without anything particularly new and amazing, there isn't much to be excited over. Certainly not dumping another 200-400$ on expansions.

Of course, that may just be the burnout and the FF14 fever setting in.

Agreeing with Svper here. I really liked LK, the raiding upgrades have been fantastic for PuGers like myself. I just picked up my old priest, went shadow and did 6/12 bosses in ICC. Had a great time and the challenge was awesome in that I had very little knowledge of spriests and still managed to be second in dps after a little googling.

One feature has sold Cata already for me: Raids will be continuable such that you can join any raid that is say on 2/12. This has been what I have been asking for, now I won't be disappointed when the raid falls apart at Cata's Professor Putricide because we wiped once and it's late. Can I get a "Hell Yeah"?

I'm also glad they scrapped POTT and the guild talent systems. The whole POT seemed like LOTRO legendary weapons systems- which frankly sucked. What's suppose to give your character more depth actually making you more one dimensional being locked into a path.

As a multiboxer and only member of my guild - guild talents would seem more of a burden. Also would never be able to achieve most of the things offered since I don't raid. The reason I multibox is to keep my sanity and not have to interact with dipsticks.

Does worry me that more than one person in alpha is saying things are sucking... Saying besides the cosmetic differences not much has changed and it's a bit boring...So I dunno just have to wait and see.

Do know that I am at a real lul in my WOW life... Don't even play everyday anymore and the daily heroics beginning to feel more like a pointless chore as the expansion gets closer.

I am looking forward to Cata and I am glad they took out Path of the Titans if they couldn't make it simple enough but still be interesting and balanced. Excellent.

As for guild talents; neat in concept, murder in execution ... should LoB tune for 5-mans, Raids, PvP? So then you have to go to the guild that is optimized for your interest which deviates from play with those you like.

I think the rated battleground (in it's current conceptual format) make Cata a buy for me already.

It's always been a gear grind, you've just never had such easy access to such high level gear before Wrath.

For me and I am sure I am in the minority, I preferred when people either raided or just did dungeons, the split between the two was nice and so a toon could be maxed out with dungeon gear and not feel like they were missing out. Now with the ease people can raid it becomes a simple case of having a few hours of dedicated play time and anyone can raid. For me I cannot guarantee 2 - 3 hours of interrupted play time to any raid and so fall behind even the most casual player who may only play for a few hours each week but dedicates that time to a raid.
    RL sucks LOL

I dont mind them dropping the path IF they replace it with something else (which is what it sounds like theyre trying to do with the new glyphs).

I read somewhere that they expect the Paths to make your character roughly 20% better i.e. an actual and noticible difference in character power.

I just hope were not losing that power and customizability.

Lets hope for more power from glyphs in place of Paths i guess.
