    Default Beware of Gnomes!

I've been playing my secondary team lately, which includes a Gnome Warlock.

After farming a number of northrend instances, I found something interesting. Places a human and night elf can cast, a gnome can't, due to................NOT BEING TALL ENOUGH.

***insert you must be this tall to ride this ride jokes here***

Yes, I'm getting line of sight errors in places my other casters aren't having. While not the end of the world, it has forced me to pay extra special attention to where I setup my chracters, and as a result, I just paid for a race change (going human).

So if you're considering putting a gnome in your group with OTHER races, be careful with it - as you'll have stupid LOS issues that other races don't seen to have.

(yes, this totally makes sense, but its basically gimping the race as casters)

EDIT: I guess this could be a benefit in PvP situations... dunno. I'll leave that up to you.

If follow breaks because you get stuck on a stair...you might be a gnome.
If you swim when others walk...you might be a gnome.
If you have to jump to cast over obstacles...you might be a gnome.

Buddy of mine used to play a gnome mage in BGs. Would hide in bushes and logs and behind stumps and people would be dead before they could find him. Especially if he was just below the military crest shooting through it. Funny as hell to watch.
    Now playing: WoW (Garona)

Ya I regret making a gnome for this very reason. They get stuck on fucking everything.

    PUNT HIM!

But yes, gnomes have issues. I was using some because five gnomes zipping around was funny, but they get caught on every fucking imperfection on the terrain. They didn't even live long enough to make 10.

I run 3 gnomes a dwarf and either a druid or a human pally. The druid is nice because if I go bear form I can hide my other 4 lol. Anyone not using enemy nameplates is dead before they figure out how a bear just shot arcane missles out it's arse

DAOC had this race called Lurikeens, basically leprechauns. They had collision detection with some objects but not all - one object they didn't have collision detection on was stumps, which they would have spread out in random locations. I used to park my ranger inside a stump and crit shot people who ran by... ahh good times.
Resto Shaman + 4 DK's, work in progress...
