why would you people need to reinstall so often? my windows machines run very nicely for at least 2.5 - 3 years on average before i ever need to mess with them. maybe you just use them harder than i do i guess.
i would definitely just try a fresh install of wow and maybe even just use the downloader. its what i always use for new wow installs now.

I use to reinstall every 4 months or so. Vista despite its problems was pretty good I went a very long time well over a year. Win7 I do not see me reinstalling for any reason. All favorites, emails, documents, photo's, music and videos are on network drives so even if I did reinstall it would be super easy.Originally Posted by Bot
Same here, though the only thing I ever install is games these days once I get the office software installed. Used to have to redo things every 6 months when I was a downloads junkie. I also don't run those "system cleaner/reg cleaner" utilities any more--I think that has more to do with it than anything. My current gaming machine was installed about 18 months ago and I've yet to have a BSOD or any notable performance loss. My alt gaming rig has the same image (XPSP1, plus updates obviously) I installed when I got my last job, which was October 2005 and it's still the one I use for my email and 4 alt WoWs (just upgraded motherboard, RAM and CPU).
On the other hand, a buddy of mine that works in IT and is a software/social networking junkie has to reinstall every 4 months or so. All in how you use it.
