Perhaps there are ways to counter this more effectively.

    1. You get deathgripped, you slam thunderstorm and hit follow on your slaves - or run back to your slaves whilst the slaves and healer pop some heals to keep you up.
    2. When dropping totems, perhaps run forward and drop them then retire behind them. So when the DK deathgrips you through them you are still in range of the totem effects.
    3. Perhaps a more aggressive style of play where you pile in to the deathknight in ghost wolf and drop totems when you are on him (totally suicidal I know and probably not recommended).

Don't get me wrong - it is annoying as hell. In BG's it happens all the time, but if thunderstorm is available it's inconvenient.

I've no practical experience multiboxing arena as yet but I thought it might be more useful to try and think of ways of lessening the impact.

It seems mad to discard so much work based on the ability of one class that is on a cooldown.
Any other shaman with more experience have any ideas?

So you have to use a trinket like all the other classes?

Shamans have a ridiculous amount of "passive" defense... so one thing gets through (death grip), big deal. I rarely say this, but QQ.

So, set up a totem farm in front of the shaman and step back a few paces.
When the dk has death gripped you through the totems you are still within their range.
So if you had tremor totem(s) in the mix it would break fear as quickly as normal (which may nor may not be too quickly depending on pulses).

So - in the above situation your tremor totems would provide the same level of protection as they always did.

Um Guys, this is all nonsense.

There is no blue post anywhere stating that this BUG is intended. There IS however a blue post on the bug forums stating "Thank you, we will investigate this bug"

Be careful what you say, rumors run like wildfire.

As far as I can see, deathgrip is not being changed to a physical ability, and grounding totem immunity was not intended. This is just another bug that will get ironed out, hopefully quicker than FOK interrupt was.
