The are also a few key differences between multi-boxing and power-leveling or gold buying:

2. There are trade offs for a multi-boxer, and those that know how can completely ruin a multi-boxers day - it is not the 'across the board' advantage that you seem to believe that it is. A player that purchases gold selling circumvents in-game mechanics for a specific and unilateral advantage.

I love how people think it's completely idiotic to "sink" money into a game. Newsflash for you, time is money. Just like not everyone has as much money to invest in something, also do others simply not have the time to invest in something. I don't understand why someone can think it's ok to spend (solve for x here) hours of your life into a game, but then turn around and say it's idiotic to spend money.Quote:

For fun read the posts by Thortok. Example: " One player versus one player. As a soloist versus multiboxer, that is one character versus 5 characters. ".
He's saying he should win in a PvP situation because it's 1 person vs 1 person. Even though it's 5 characters vs 1 characters; he should win or at least it should be a balanced fight....

Your argument revolves around Malkorix's second point. Clearly there is an advantage in that you are able to sync 5 spell casts at the same time; however, they lack the ability to act independently. I believe this weakness is foolishly overlooked most of the time. In most cases, well-organized groups of 5 individual players are much harder to match up against because they are able to work independently of one another preforming much more complex actions in response to their surroundings.
Multi-boxing is, currently, not in violation of any of our policies so long as the characters are not automated. If the player is required to push buttons to preform the appropriate actions, this is not considered botting as no automation is present. Each action preformed is the result of a player pressing a button.
Yeah it's obvious when people complain because they lost to a multiboxer in PvP. Wonder if he's going to reply. Blue has been pretty damn clear.
We have one of these people on the EU forum also. Shows up in every thread, makes comments, ignores replies and keeps posting the same crap. Keeps re-defining HIS definition of automation/cheating. Annoying. Someone should invent bitchslap-over-ip.

I'm waiting for someone to post a QQ about me on the battlegroup forums from this weekend. I started my token grind, and forced myself to do a few WSG matchs :shudder: I won all but one match, through the simple fact that my paladin is ridiculously overgeared for that bracket. I just plowed through the field with the flag, stopping every time an alliance rode at me. It took no less than 3 minutes from alliance base to horde base each time.
The last game I played (I gave up for the day for obvious reasons) I was assaulted by my own team. Standard complaints, blah blah blah. Two of the players started following me to spam /spit and such (reported) and generally not contributing to the game. It really started to get me pretty ticked off; not because I don't think my team is at a disadvantage in WSG though. I know the cards are stacked against me. I failed in that match because a mage discovered that a blink>dragon's breath combo kept me busy long enough I became pretty much ineffective. All it takes is one or two people to keep me from mounting up to catch up to a flag carrier.
The reason I was upset was because these people don't contribute. I recommended they /afk out, especially when I took the flag and held it at our base where my shaman team could hold up a defense indefinitely. They wanted me to drop it because it was going to take forever because my team couldn't go offense. Why couldn't the rest of them go retrieve our flag? Oh yeah, they were too busy harassing me. I noticed very quickly that I was the only one on my team above level 65, and the only one with decent gear. I really don't get why level 60 players can come into the game and tell me I'm the reason they're losing. :cursing:
I hate asshole solo boxers. Hate is a powerful word, but there it is.
maybe a rash of QQ from us multi-boxers on the forums complaining about how the new gimp hinder our BGs is in order ;)
Plus if you sink to their level, they'll beat you with experience ;p
Wow.. this sounds very familiar. WSG is especially bad due to the fact that you will take up half the team - your an easy target to blame for any loss regardless of whether that may be true or not. From winning enough games I know that its highly dependent on the other people playing with you - if they are too busy gawking or harassing you, it's almost a guaranteed loss (or turtle if you defend the flag). When it comes to battlegrounds, people are like switches when they see a multiboxer - when your team is winning they will praise you to no end, when your team is losing - look out, cause it's all your fault. Having tried to reason and justify multiboxing usually end up failing miserably, and with that in mind, the best way I've found to deal with these people is just to ignore them and move on. Developing a thick skin (without being an ass yourself) is probably one of the more difficult aspects of multiboxing I'd say.Quote:
