I would like to play 5x of the same class to have things more easy (especially in pvp) so I wonder if there is any class that can clear dungeons if 5 boxed. I was thinking about 5x paladins as they are tanky enough and can heal if needed, what do you think?
Any true Hybrid class with Tank, Healer, & DPS specs (like Paladin & Druid) should be able to do it though it will be slow as their DPS is low.
5 Shaman can also do much. I am not sure about 5 Mages but they may be pretty capable also.
You likely will have many more options with 4 plus healer though.
I'm running 5 mages right now and at level 22 I still can't even get past the first boss of deadmines. They are just so squishy even if all of them got 600+ armor.Quote:

I think there are multiple all Shaman teams into their 40s at least and at least one of them stated it really shouldn't have been his first team (and he mains a Shaman and loves Shaman).
For dungeon clearing the best teams are likely Melee-Cleave setups or Spell-Cleave setups (or at least stationary Spell AoE setups) and all should have at least a Healer and it may well be that NONE of the ones having success so far are all of the same class. From memory the compositions where people are reporting success are:
-4 Warlocks+Priest;
-4 Mages+Priest*;
-4 Warriors+Healer;
-3 Warriors+2 Healers (less DPS but redundant healing for WPVP);
-Tank+3Mages+Healer;
-Tank+2Mages+Warlock+Healer;
-Tank+Mage+2Warlocks+Healer;
*At least so far can't do Timmy in Scholomance; Maybe Warlock+3Mages+Priest with pet tanking would be better (needs testing to confirm the Warlock pet can keep aggro);
Personally I think the team compositions in bold are likely best for most multi-boxers (especially new multiboxers) for many reasons (including the most utility). If I had to pick a best overall I would pick the last one bolded blue... For those last 3 teams I generally think Paladin Tank with Priest Healer are optimal for most people but any Tank and any Healer can be viable.
Having DPS of the same type helps but often it isn't a big deal to mix some classes and doesn't have to add much complexity depending on your approach. For example mixing a hunter with 2 mages is not very synergistic and definitely adds much complexity but mixing 1 Warlock with 2 mages is very synergistic as long as you don't plan to be AoE kiting (which is hard for multi-boxers to do) which is why most team are just healing through damage while doing stationary AoE (with or without a character tank &/or pet tanks).

Ultimately it comes down to whether you care what character is your main... If you don't really care then personally I would look at 4 Warlocks+Priest as you should be able to clear everything and be great for WPVP... Personally I have 5 teams of 4 Warlocks+Priest that I am working on periodically when not focused on my main 3W+2P team... They are easy to level and I plan to use them for passive crafting cooldowns at level 35+ and likely will take at least one to 60 for Large Scale WPVP (and with 3-4 pet tanks should be able to clear all dungeons).

Note that I boxed 10 Shaman in BC for WPVP but in Classic I am thinking Priest+4Warlocks is simpler and maybe overall better for most people. If I understand the pros/cons correctly the big reason that compositon is better for many people is because Warlocks can cast more while on the move and don't need to be facing their target.
Personally if my brother and I didn't want both Paladins & Warriors for mains I likely would be just doing Priest+4Warlocks.
I've been running 5x hunters and cleared every dungeon so far with not many problems what so ever (currently level 54) not sure how the lvl 60 dungeons will go tho

Thanks so much. When I boxed 4 Hunters in the past I did a druid as the Healer just so it seemed like a full pack of animals. I guess a Shaman could go Ghost Wolf and fit that theme :-). IIRC that was BC and both Druid and Shaman were stronger than they were in Vanilla.Quote:

As for the boss fights they have been rather simple so far, your pets are rly tanky and as long as u have mendpet macro's setup u should be fine. Struggled a bit with the stair event in ZF since hunters don't have much AOE apart from multishot (3 targets) or volly (1min cd)
I quested up to lvl 31 (grabbed the weapons from the STV chain) but i did do every dungeon quest in RFC,WC,SK, but once i got to SM i just started grinding that out from 31 to 40 (including a run into RFK and RD)

I definitely wouldn't recommend 5 hunters. Not having a healer severely limits your options. In fact, I don't see the point of the OP at all. Why do you want 5 of the same class? You don't gain anything and you lose a lot. It's not really "easier" to box 5 of the same class in classic. The rotations are generally so simple for caster teams that there's minimal difference between a single class group or multi class.
Having a mixed combination might have simple rotations if you are playing PvE and dungeons, but if your ultimate goal is PvP (like me) I think we all can agree that having 5 of the same class is much more simpler than trying to manage 5 different classes and rotations while you are fighting many players at once.Quote:

I also ran 5 Shamans. This didn't do so hot in PVE. One of my accounts already had a capped Shaman so I'd just switch out the pally with the shaman. This was mainly for PVP purposes, however in PVE, it couldn't compare to having the pally tank, it was painful running 5 shaman. After putting in so much time leveling two groups to cap, I can tell you I would never, ever run another group again without a tank.
I've been toying with the idea of returning in the future to boxing. If I do, I'd most likely use a Pally for a tank. I don't play to raid and those pally buffs go a long way over battle shout for cloth.
Hope I will be ok with Druid tank, Priest heals and x3 Mages..
In PVE, you should be all set. While Warrior is "king" of tanking in classic, the reason for this is shield block for crushing blows. If were just doing 5 mans we have nothing to worry about. In truth, using a Druid tank has more value with your setup due to Buffs Druids bring the table in trade for a warrior shout buff for melee damage. Druid is a great choice as a healer, cause thorns will help your pets maintain agro if you ever dungeon dive.

I got my team of hunters to 15 and decided to try Deadmines - we got absolutely wrecked, thanks to my pets not being able to get group aggro.
So, went out and quested to get to 16 and got greater fleshrippers and then went back to DM. What a HUGE difference!
There were a couple of wipes - some rooms have a LOT of mobs in them and they are all chained (or at least, difficult to pull alone). I was able to kill the first two bosses without wiping on them, but then at the 3rd boss' room one of my pets pulled EVERYTHING IN THE ROOM and at that point I figured I was done. Managed to get to 17 in the instance a little before that 3rd boss' room, have a little gold in my pockets, and will be trying the instance again when I get some time to play.
Fun!
With my 4x warrior team, I couldn't even really start until level 18, and at 18, getting to the third boss was extremely difficult, so I just farmed the first two for a few levels. I think I finally pushed past the 3rd boss regularly at like level 20 or 21. So you're well ahead of the curve compared to a melee team at least.Quote:
