Hello,
I just bought a 670 4GB card and wanted to run my four comrades on that card with my main running off of my 460 GTX 2GB card. My main would be on my main monitor and the other four would run on a second monitor off to the side.
Will this work? And if so how do I handle the drivers. Do I run with both sets of drivers? Or will the 670 drivers replace the 460 and could that be a problem? Both cards Nvidia/EVGA.

It'll work, but you'll be stuck with DX9 on your non-primary monitor. Ever since DX11 was introduced to World of Warcraft, I've never been able to launch a game successfully on a non-primary monitor while using DX11.Quote:

I've got a 4GB GTX 670 (a superclocked EVGA).
Using DX9, it can handle five clients, all on Ultra.
I'm using two 27" widescreen monitors (1080x1920 resolution, on both).
With the main on one monitor and the four slaves on the other.
I plan on ten boxing (on lower than Ultra) later this expansion, on the one card.
ummm...i can 10 box with one monitor with a single OLD 1GB video card.. what about the 4gb cad wont be enough for 5 wow accounts?
Wow, what am I doing wrong. I upgraded my system and I can't run 5 clients in ultra. I have to run the main in Ultra, and the others on fair; and even then I only get around 20-30 fps on my main. :(Quote:

WoW! Thanks so much everyone! I had read somewhere that Mirai couldn't share V-Ram... and I wasn't sure what exactly he was saying but got concerned whether my two card idea would work. By the way Mirai, I am thrilled by the news that they all share the driver. If I can run DX9 and five-box on Ultra I will be miles happy. I wanted to get something more powerful than my EVGA 460 GTX 2GB for five boxing and the EVGA 670 FTW 4GB was at the right price point, though it is another twenty dollars less at Amazon right now. I was thinking 4GB would be 1GB per slave (I am a generous owner) and I myself would have the 460 2GB all to myself. Evidently, by the results Ualaa is getting (and I don't know that I will get those results as my system is not quite that good,) the 4GB might be enough ram for all five toons.

The number of monitors you use and the number of computers you use is pretty much personal preference. To get the most accurate answer/result to your question you're going to have to test out the differences between DX9 and DX11 for yourself to see how your system handles them.Quote:

I've been meaning to build a FAQ-like sticky for this forum to help answer questions like these, but I've really been slacking lately.
Where do I choose DX9 or DX11? I was looking under System/Graphics and didn't see it as an option...

I checked, had three accounts on DX9 and two accounts (the new ones, which are RAF linked to existing accounts) defaulted to DX11.
They're all set to DX9 now.
Pretty sure 10x DX9 is going to work better on a single card, then 10x DX 11.
Also will lower the settings somewhat; only seeing objects/mobs/creatures further away is a priority, beyond that just high enough to notice things like Ring of Frosts on the ground...
