Go check out Kruschpaks 2700 rating in 5s! There's your answer :)
Well, my high was 1940 rating this season, and up to 2100 MMR. Ive been beating 2500++ rated pvp players in 5s this whole season. So shaman are very viable idd :)
chain Lighting FTW :D
been haveing losts of funs on the ptrs with shammys and the buffs
now just to fram 391 gear (honor gear) in the next av weekend and have some fun
Okej then .. Continue with shamans and forget dk xP
Well the question i have is what you refer to?
Best team to reach most rating in Arena? Or who will win in a 5v5 between them?
There is many aspects to where the teams is good and not, i concider DK beeing very nice overall since you can solo instances (for mount farm like TK etc) and be viable in PvP with many more.
well I love arena and world pvp/bg so something for that :p
tbh, dk is like easy mode so thats just spamming a button and pew pew..
with the shaman i would be able to do instances also, bcause i still have a paladin leader who can tank the place.
decissions decissions..
Well, the 2 different teams got pros and cons. My 2 cents
Shaman team
Pros
1. Kill someone in 1 GCD
2. Self heal
3. Can cast while moving
4. Spammable CL much?!
Cons:
1. Easy to lockdown
2. Some mana issues
3. Lack of a big defensive CD
I think strangulate is one of the best abilities in the game. If you glyph it you get 7 seconds of no casting if it interrupts a cast. That is a ridiculous LONG time for a healer not to be able to heal. And if you are good enough to manually strangulate then that's 4 times you can lock out a healer (not counting diminishing returns.)
One thing I'm not sure of is can you trinket out of silence effects?
The argument is quite simple, DKs are OP in pvp, shammies are not. 4x DK... well, I'll leave the guess up to you lol.
Quick question thou, any DK teams above 2200 rating or even 2000 rating atm?
Talking about right now. There are far more teams around 1800++ rating in 5v5 with 2500 exp in 2s and 3s then there were earlier in the season. So the difficulty is higher now in 5s then it was early in the season
Play what you like to a lot get bord of deathkights becouse all the one button press gets kinda boring.
Deathkights running off falling off hills getting stuck. ( i love ctm/itw) but useing it all the time get to massey.
Shammys can solo os+3 TK/BT and loads of other raids. 5 man shammys a few av even 5 manned a few bossess in hc's, i love to see what the new gear will let me do.
I just deleted a shit-ton of posts from this thread. It's amazing how this thread went way off topic and tried
to justify cheating and exploiting the system as if it's something we allow.
I realize it's extremely difficult to not post stuff about cheating and exploiting but... try to control yourselves.
sorry but what did DK and shaman get in 4.3 ? exactly.
mmo-champion blocked for me at work.
Shamans get dmg boosted, which is totaly not needed. Dmg is fine PvP wise, but we're lacking defensive CDs big time!
DK gets some minor buffs to UH. So nothing for us boxers so to speak.
I do believe that the comps are hard to compare and specially not against each other, in a 4v4 arena between 4 dks and 4 shamans i bet my money on the DKs.
For overall gameplay and fun, i actually don't think there is any difference. Both teams are viable for most things in game, just in different approaches.
It should be more or less the same. The 3 main things that change for shamans is:
- flametongue weapon imbue is changed from 747 spellpower (about 1K if talented) to 5% overall spell damage (7% if talented) increase. It means that shamans will scale much better with gear, but for some it might mean that certain spells hit less hard initially. Some spells will benefit more from it than others, since spells have different individual scaling factors.
- shamanism got increased from 32% to 36% (lb, lvb and chain lightning benefit 4% extra from spell power)
- cooldown on chain lightning got removed
(besides this EQ got buffed and fire nova will no longer increase duration of flame shock)
It basically all means that ele shamans scale much better than before with gear, at the cost of a 1k spell power loss. It means that for nuke phases, the orc racial (updated into a flat spell power increase) + engineering glove tinker becomes a really strong cooldown.
Might also be worth it for 5v5 to look into acquiring 2 pieces of T13 raid gear ... the bonus is basically 2000 mastery everytime you pop elemental mastery. You will obviously lose the 4p pvp gear set bonus, but this extra nuke sounds like incredible to me if you can stack it. Downside is that you can no longer acquire set pieces from valor points, they are raid drops (lfr).
DKs did get the atk pwr buff buff :P
ie. if you run with a pally healer who buffs might, you now get +20% to atk pwr rather than just +10%... not an insignificant boost.
Zenga is your picture some new internet meme that I don't know about?
Is this nerf to Howling Blast going live?
"Howling Blast (frost talent/skill) - This has now been nerfed a little it now scales from 44% for single targets and 22% AOE of attack power, down from 48% and 24% respectively."
This pretty much nullifies the dmg increase from Blessing of Might. Other skills still get a slight boost in dmg but Howling Blast is teh sh*t in pvp.
That is you? Here I thought you were like 18
Edit: I don't mean that as a negative thing
When I wear my hotpants and makeup during the weekends I feel 18.
The rest of the week I'm 33.
