Instance troubles

Ok so I am trying to do instances. I have a 5 box team and trying to do instances and heroics. I can work through several instances but get destroyed in heriocs

My team is
Warrior GS 4900 Talent is prot
Shaman GS 4900 Talent is resto
Warlock GS 5000+ Talent is demon
Warlock GS 5000+ Talent is afflict
Mage GS 5000+ Talent is frost

I am using the glyphs as recommended by wowpopular.com

here is my problem. I used recount and my DPS was like 800 - 900 for the 3 DPS

I spam healing wave on the tank.

Anyone see any problem or how i can increase my dps so that i can work my way forward ??

Mage: not sure about it, but isnt Ice Lance a very low dmg spell unless it hits a frozen target?
Bosses don't get frozen so Ice lance will never be triple and will only cause very small dmg.
You're basically losing a few global cooldowns in your macro. i would fill the blanks will frostbolt instead of ice lance.
(then again, i haven't played a mage in 2 years, and only up to 70 :-)

do you have [nochanneling] in your macros? if not you might clip your drain spells on the locks.

Everyone would benefit from the flametounge totem more than the searing. More spell power to all.
Also, wrath of Air might be better too,depending on the fight dmd

Any frost mage with a 5k GS will dish out more than 800dps, even just spamming frostbolts.
Your problem is not the spec (frost vs arcane) but rather what you cast.

You might want to link your armory toons, for more info on spec/gear etc.

If I where you I would drag my team to some test dummies and go trough each of your toons rotations.

For my own druids I did one run where I managed everything manually as if I where a solo player, and then compared that to my castsequence.

You gearscore is WAY better than my teams and I can do some instances like UK without breaking a sweat.

And like stated above, you should have the [nochanneling] in all your cast sequences.

I'm doing that from memory since the servers are down for 24 hours, so I hope that's right.

So looking at this setup, you should be facerolling Heroics BUT I am wondering about the tank? Is he holding aggro? How are you getting killed in heroics? Warrior is a little more work than a pally or druid so I am wondering about what the overall issue is.
Can you elaborate?

I am using a warrior as tank. my problem does not seem holding the aggro. I think it is not getting a high enough DPS. I think knocking them down quicker is the solution .

So how does your team wipe? What dungeons? People have cleared heroics in blues and greens and so I really feel it is very unlikely that dps is the issue unless you run out of mana from taking so long to down the boss?

Usually the tank can hold the aggr. the healer runs outa mana and then the tank dies ... then wipe

Can you link your tank?

Not to sound like a dick but your dps setup is horrible. It's almost like you don't understand either a) mechanics of the class or b) multi-boxing. I highly suggest moving to click macros and checking out this thread: http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=26161

You should be bending heroics over with 0 problems.

Also: Don't bind a healing key that just spams heals as you dps on your tank that OOMs your healer. I suggest moving towards click healing with like grid/repeater regions if you use innerspace.

Or do both. I run my druid as healer, but here is his macro. I was wasting too much mana in overheals until people helped me in this thread.

That was before I tweaked it. This sequence was actually too slow so I started taking one comma out of each set between the lifeblooms until now rejuvenation is up exactly when it hits 1 second left and lifebloom is constantly up.

Also on one of my DPS macro buttons my druid just casts Wild Growth each time it's cool down is over.

In addition I use HEAL bot set up in a repeater zone for bigger heals, which is mostly spamming nourish if one of the toons gets in trouble.

Ya when I play a priest healer i have a button for circle of healing/pom bound to my dps key... and druids wild growth gets mashed on every cooldown :) But if I'm running a pally / shaman healer I just click heal like a regular single healer would.

BlackMagic = best mage enchant get rid of the 50 spell power imo.. and ya your hit rating is on everything not really much you can do about that till you get some upgrades.

Spamming Healing Wave constantly isn't very mana effecient. Make sure that you keep earth shield on your tank and hit it with riptide when its up and lesser HW if the tank starts taking more dmg than rip can replace. Riptide is not expensive period. Also make sure you have your water shield on your Shammy. A few good click macros, found in the Wiki, with an "oh shit" heal macro should be ok.

With the right spec, a frost mage with your gear can do 4-5k dps just spamming frostbolt, and even more as arcane, though the replenishment helps from frost.

Your warlock castsequences seem very messed up, since curse of doom is pretty much useless outside of raids, and can easily lock up your castsequence for a long time if you change target. Seed of corruption is useless on most bosses, just set up a simple rotation for single target dps, and have a separate button for aoe if necessary.

And yes, for the mage you should put icy veins on a separate line somewhere so it can't lock up your castsequence.
Deep Freeze only works if the target is frozen, so if it's not, that will also lock up the sequence.

If this is a /castsequence macro, how does the macro reset? Does it lock up on Icy Veins while the skill is on cooldown? You can switch to Arcane and go Arcane Blast x4, Arcane Missiles, then repeat.

On my resto shaman, I have a macro bound to my dps key.

/castsequence Riptide, Water Shield, Lesser Healing Wave

That pretty much covers most fights for tank healing and never lets my Water Shield drop off. If I need more healing, Lesser Healing Wave, Healing Wave and Chain Heal bound to keys close by. I drop healing totem instead of the mana stream, because 400hp a ticks takes care of most splash damage also.

This is the paladin tank and the resto shaman healing her. Both are under 5k gs.

I'm not sure what to do about the warlocks, because all 5 of mine are destro. :o I can say that one of the problems I had when my first lock was affliction, depending on how your macros reset, you might have skills that are still on cd locking up your macros until they're off cd.

Yeah that is on items, I can change out one gem to take off 15, but that's the only thing I can change until I swap out some gear.
