New Server using RAF but linked to multiple existing accounts

Hi all,
so I have 4 keys from the anniversary sale for WoW that were $5 each. I am currently thinking of (and have started to some degree) leveling new teams on new servers. My question is, due to already having 5 accounts and wanting to keep transfers down to a bare minimum, what way should I use these keys?
I am thinking that my only choice is to link to 4 of my old accounts and then transfer an 80 from another server and boost the teams to 60 - 65. Anyone got any other ideas on doing this? Sucky thing to me would be the 5th account would not have any new toons on it except for any transfers I would do.
Also I have a Dk which I barely play, how effecient would he be for boosting? He is currently specced as a tank. I do have a druid and a pally but hesitent to move those toons due to the old server most likely remaining my main server.
Totally confused on what to do at this point, I have been leveling a team on my current server using BoA shoulders and chest pieces but this does seem to be progressing really slowly (have played for a few hours for about 4 evenings and only at lvl 11 :( )

What about.. if you only used 4 accounts. + 1 transferred. (level 80) *just read that you only bought 4... lol then u got a team of 5 so seems we were thinking the same thing*
I know you already bought the keys for 5bucks but maybe only using 4 accounts will save you the troubles.

I would think a DK would be fine for boosting, go tank spec and clear away.
and once u hit 80 on all the 4 accounts you will have an 80 tank more ready then the rest of the team (seems to help a ton)

4 evenings and only at lvl 11? idk what to say about that...burntout? try running instances with RAF easy to hit 60 in a day.

Yes, I think it is due to all the collection quest x 5 and without RAF I cannot skip them :(

so when people level up teams with RAF is it simply level all the teams on an account and then the RAF Accounts sit till the raf expires? How do people manage the RAF 90 days?

- 1-12 takes me about 3 hours on a new team, no raf, no heirlooms, by just following the 1-60 guide i found on this site, no single collection quest
- i leveled up a few extra teams to 55-60 while in raf through boosting, but since i was a fresh 80 i mainly focused on that team, i have granted a bazillion of other toons i'll prolly never play, .. or maybe just pick one here and there to create a new team in the future

to be honest i was glad when my raf was over, i did no longer felt the pressure to keep making & boosting new toons to make full use of the raf. eventually i want 3 teams at 80, but all the other accounts are only good to have alchemy transmutes, and it still take a frigging boring grind/boosting to 68. And having them to level up again in cata is not something i look forward to.

my point being, there is a certain point when raf is not longer fun, but it becomes just an endless grinding/boosting tool and most people will hardly ever play the granted teams, since there are only 24 hours in a day

So with the non RAF following the 1 - 60 guide from here, do you just follow the guide till you get to a certtain level once there is no RAF involved? I would think toons would fall behind the RAF guide pretty fast and no be able to kill the mobs because of being too high?

To start on a new server.. I would go:

A (existing account, with a strong Booster... server transferred over).
RAF structure:
A -- B -- C
A -- D -- E

Then use A to boost toons (ideally 4 or 8) on BCDE.
Let's say you do four.
That gets you:
- A x0 (From Leveling) +4 (Two from B, Two from D) +2 (One each from B/D.. cascade granted levels)
- B x4 (From Leveling) +2 (Two from C)
- C x4 (From Leveling) +0 (Nothing Granted)
- D x4 (From Leveling) +2 (Two from E)
- E x4 (From Leveling) +0 (Nothing Granted)

Totals are:
- A... Booster +6
- B Six
- C Four
- D Six
- E Four

But Ualaa, with that setup I would then have to transfer all the toons back onto my original accounts, correct?

If it were me I would transfer the 80 toons from the original 4 slave accounts to the new accounts as you'll most likely end up with 4-7 sets of toons on the 4 new RAF accounts and transfering that many characters would get expensive fast. 60 to 68 doesn't take very long as with multiple sets of toons you can boost them in OL dungeons when they have rested. Also keep in mind that those new accounts would be getting the RAF flying mount once it is released.

well unfortunately, the original accounts have 3 sets of 80s plus multiple 60 - 75 s on it also

Depends I guess.

If you want to keep the same existing five accounts.
Then RAF will speed up leveling somewhat.
But force you to do transfers.



If you don't want to do transfers, then RAF is pretty pointless.
Without transfers you could do:
ABCDE (Existing)
Use A to boost: B-F (RAF Linked) and C-G (RAF Linked), discarding the toons on FG after the granting.
Then use A to boost D-H and E-I (RAF Linked), again discarding after the granting.
Then use (one of) BCDE to boost A-J (RAF Linked)...

But this is three sets of boosting... and RAF is 3x experience
Without RAF, you lose out on granted levels, but the initial teams done once... take about as long as with RAF done three times.

I did not see what the end result you desired? I have several "DEAD" accounts, RAF'ed toons that I got bored with or never got done. I have 5 active accounts but my computer is flaky now so can barely dual box. New toons with the RAF accounts are really free to play in my mind. I let a couple account expire, start new ones with the RAF and play them, the 60 days you pay for is a wash and you get more benifits on the old account that it works out almost free. That of course allows that you like to level. So when the RAF is done, I moved a couple of 60s to old accounts, and have more toons for the same base costs. You don't have to upgrade to BC/LK so you save there. So think of what you want to end up with and see what you have now that will stay on to achieve your goal.

Well good question Alcattle, my end goal is to fill out the remainder of my original account, i.e. fill any empty slots on my current realm. I also want to fill out on some new servers, one being KJ and another realm for a Horde set of teams.
I think that I may end up linking another 2 accounts to RAF (have 4 x 5$ keys in total) and use those to fill across 4 accounts and then transfer to the fifth for a few toons to vary out that 5th slot in the teams.
I know I do lose the toons off the RAF accounts but later I can always resurrect an account and transfer a toon even though it would be cheaper to do another RAF at the time, time wise this would be easier.
