Did you know.. (RAF tip and more)

Hi,

I'd like to start a thread full of tips, helpful macro's and things you hadn't thought of but are quite cool nonetheless.
Each of these tips should be small enough to not warrant their own individual topic/wiki page but still interesting nonetheless.

And as a good measure, the topic starter will open with the first tip:
Did you knowthat when you use RAF to grant levels to your vet account, that the experience on that char levels with you percentage-wise?
This means that if your lvl 1 character has 99% experience and only needs one more kill to level up, you can then grant them 59 level to level them up to 60.
Once they hit 60, you can check their experience and you'll see that they're STILL at 99% which means that 1 quest should be enough to make them 61.
This effectively means that you only need to do 9 levels in Outland instead of 10, saving you roughly the time of gathering 500k experience.

Sweet eh?

And make sure you dont get to close the lvling. Or your lvl 5 priest could suddenly be lvl 6 from the org summon.

Headed under general tips for Collection Quests- so obvious really but -

There’s no rule which says you have to start a collection quest and finish it on all 5 in one sitting. Get 2 or 3 of your guys completed on the quest, do something else then return later, it could even be another day. Starting a collection quest that you’re going to complete 3/5 is easier on the mind than sticking it out until 5/5 and returning to a quest to finish it for just 2 guys is easy too.

Also :

Probably the easiest profession to skill up while you’re levelling or going about your business is skinning. Just put a skinning macro on a round robin and each toon will take turns in skinning.

You don't need to round-robin it, just have each toon run the macro everytime - it'll all end up nice and even and is a lot simpler - in fact sometimes it seems that more than one toon gets a skillup even if they didn't get the leather

Apart from the forthcoming bonus for skinners in WotLK (slightly increased critical strike rating), I don't see the point in levelling skinning on more than 1 toon. Am I missing something?

On shaman leveling, especially when being boosted - the totem quests remain yellow no matter the level reached (at least till level 49 when i did them) so use them to your maximum advantage. The steps give like 15,000xp on most of them at that level.

Dont forget to do your cloth handin quests (a donation of .....) at any of the major cities. They are all considered level 60 quests so if you wait til mid 50's with tripxp it will help speed your way thru some levels.

Did you know if you granted levels for an account that was chain linked to another veteran account, those free 30+ levels can be passed on for another free 15 levels to that veteran?

I do this for two full level from 53-55. You need 15 stacks of wool, silk, mageweave and runecloth. 3 each for the 5 factions. IF and Org each host two factions, make sure to find them both.

Once you are friendly with the Argent Dawn you can also turn in 60x Crypt Fiend Parts, Savage Fronds, Bone Fragments, Dark Iron Scraps and Core of Elements for 28650 XP each with the RAF bonus (9550 w/o). This is 143250 total, more then a full level. Doing the Cauldron and Araj quests will get you to friendly and is worth a large amount of XP as well.

Great info! I never knew IF had two cloth turn in factions! I am leveling a set of mages and preist atm. Ill remember that 8)

I pretty much level my guys up to 40 because it is so fast. That way they have 20 levels to give away once I grant levels and I can just transfer the one character that couldn't get granted levels, grant the 20 levels from my recently granted guy and boom another 60.

Also summon a friend from an account that already has the Flight paths saves a ton of time. I barely ran anywhere and I got from 1-40 in under 6 hours(boosting) then granted levels to 60. 60 in 6 hours is ridiculous.

Is there any special thing you have to do to do this?

I guess the question is: when doing the gifting, is it the 3rd grp giving levels to the veteran account? or is it the 3rd giving to the 2nd, and then the 2nd giving to the veteran? Thanks for the info :) makes it much better for when I do giftem.

I was planning on doing the transfer then grant but was not sure if it would work or not. Have you actually done it already?

So...

If Samdeathwalker leveled 26 of his toons to 60...

He would have... 9750 levels to grant total after you recipricate?... giving him a total of 182 level 60 characters across 26 accounts (Note: He would need to transfer 12 of these off the bottom 6 accounts in order to not break 10 characters per account...

Prepared would have enough for 272 level 60's assuming he wanted to spend $1050 moving characters off the bottom accounts (Also assuming he refered linear, which I don't believe he did. I think he went 1:1 raf-recruit.)

Nice tip, however, if you grant levels to a level 1, you wasted yourself you a HUGE amount of time. Why? Because using recruit-a-friend on two new account characters both on separate accounts but linked, they level to 10 in about 20 minutes. To level 30 (for me) in about 4 hours. So it make sense to use your raf granting on characters that are level 20 to 30. The 99% is only beneficial if your character will be level 60 at the end of all of your grants. Why? Because whether or not you go out and kill the final target at level 1 (if you're granting levels that will place you under level 60) or kill the final target at whatever your level will be after granting, it doesn't matter. You're still at the same place. You still have one to kill to get your level. If your grants will take you to level 60, then by all means have your experience bar at the highest you can get it prior to doing the grants.

on zhevrah mount???

can you only get that on 1 of the toons or can it go to multiple ones/ does it have to be only the other toon that you're leveling up or can it be any of them? just bought my 60 day game card

The mount is a reward to the person that did the recruiting. So if account A recruited account B... only account A will get the mount. And only 1 character for account A.

But if you have 9750 levels to grant spread across your accounts... why waste the 4 hours to get to level 30?

If you leveled each character to 30 you would have enough levels to grant twice as many to 60, more than doubling the cost of moving characters off the bottom accounts and more... since that doesn't even count the trickledown of those extra 15 levels...

After failing to be able to use the search feature in the forums to find all posts with RAF in it...I started just searching page by page by page...after kicking my dog out of frustration, I started collecting stuff in to a wiki. Check this out for RAF'ing goodness. add, delete, update as necessary to either this thread or the wiki.

If you add another account with raf while having a raf allready (same account names, email) the timer resets and goes to a new 3 months.

I just want to get this straight, I already had 1 account with a 70 Warrior. I just RAF and got another account. Now those 2 are linked but on my main, I would have to make a new toon(on main acct.) and another new toon (on the RAF account) in which they are both lvl1 and by doing this i should get 3x XP? or do i have to have my RAF acct make another RAF acct to get the 3x XP?

yes you will need to start a new toon on both accounts to get the tripxp bonus. If you use the 70 to try and boost the 2nd account it wont get tripxp due to both toons not being within 4 levels of each other.

Most ppl create a 3rd account to have the 2nd and 3rd linked to each other but not to the main(70). That way they can boost with the 70 since both linked accounts are within 4 levels. The 70 isnt linked and therefore doesnt nerf the tripxp for the other accounts.

However on your situation since you already linked account A to the main even if you did get a 3rd account and linked to A with it you cant use your 70 since he is already linked to A as well.
