This is awesome, thank you so much for your work Lax.
I have one issue and I can't figure how to deal with it. I cannot get swtor to minimize in order to access other windows not with windows key, not alt-tab, no way, I can access the bar but it's like swtor is always on top of the applications.
Thank you for our help.

EDIT: Solved. Found the option on Windows layouts and removed default option.
Hello, I set up this forum account especially because of this thread. I dual boxed before, but "non professional" without ISBoxer. Now I am trying it out because of SWTOR. I managed to get it to work with my two beta accs, except one problem.
The camera view angle turn on the char that is following the main. It doesn´t turn the camera, because the gameplay setting don´t have a intelligent camera blaa like wow does and this won´t let me tab and shoot correctly. When I use WASD to move and click the mouse into the screen it stays with the camera centered, but on follow it doesn´t work.
I´ve read about this problem here at the beginning and somewhere else too. But there wasn´t a help or hint how to make that work another way? Can you explain a noob how to achieve that? I looked at ISBoxer Setting, Wiki and Forum , but as I am new to it, I don´t find any hints.
Anyone can done via Steps Dps? My followers never adquire target (and I change the Target of Target to T)...Can anyone explain step by step how they done it?
Thnaks!!!
I just sent Mercbeast a whisper in hopes he will chime in here. He has leveled a few teams to 50 ( using ISBoxer and two PCs ) I'm curious how he managed his assisting and such.
With that said, let me explain as best i can my experience so far. I have tried many variations of assisting, all of which have been discussed in this thread, and hereis what worked best for me. Bottom line is i found no way to "reliably" press one button and have assist work flawlessly. First let me explain to those who might not know, how it all works in this game.
There are no macros. There is no keybind or command for assist. No assist focus or assist party member such and such. ( there is also no target forwarding ..ie lord of the rings online ) There is 'acquire target of target" and "target party member 1-5". It takes 3 button presses to get this done. Without macros, a solo player might not ever use these features.
If you keymap "acquire target of target" into your DPS it will cycle through targets of targets. so you target your main..hes targeting the mobs.. the mobs targeting your main.. or his/your companion, rinse and repeat. It only pauses to stay on the mains target during a cast. So fast spamming gets spells to fire off, but not 100% reliably.
i finally ended up keybinding 'target party member " to my "E" key ( i use mouse tilt to strafe ) and kept "acquire target of target" in the dps keymap. So every time i switched targets, I would hit the E key then start dpsing. It was the most reliable way for me. Still not perfect due to target cycling that happens. The only 100% method would be to key bind the two commands and hit E>R>DPS for example.. its a pain but it works.
So if anyone has anything better, post it here! I'm anxious to hear what you all came up with.
Like I stated previously, my way works 100% of the time with just one key.
I spam that key and it does it all perfectly. I cannot see atm another way of doing it without passing through selection of the main character first but the switch is perfect and so is the assist.

It does not work for me.. i tried it. Can you post exactly how you have your keymaps.. or screenshot them. I'm not doubting you, I'm just looking for clarification. I must be entering in a wrong command or something.
When i saw you post this>>
EDIT: So i went back deleted and remade the keymaps. just like you.. and guess what?...IT WORKS!.. I'm not sure what i did wrong the first time i tried it.. but it is working now. I spent 6 runs in BT with two teams doing it the hard way because it did not work ( or i chose a wrong keymap action or something ) GAH!
How I got mine to work EVENTUALLY
DPS 1 (Mapped Key)
Hold any keystroke action = ON
Step1:> CTRL+SHIFT+F2. Target ALL, w/o current (your in game keybind to party member 1, I set mine different so check what yours is)
Step2:> ALT-T, Target ALL w/o current (keybind to aquire targets target)
Step3:>1, Target ALL WITH current
It takes a few presses to get my other guys firing, but it works for now. I did try making it all less steps but didnt work. They change targets when I do, just click the mouse for a target and spam the key.
EDIT: 1 thing i do have problems with, is working out who will be party member 1, I know with 2 people its easy but I was doing 4. sure i'll figure this out eventualy
Kris and I spent some time together yesterday to work this out. I believe we got him straightened out now. Although Bioware indicated they lifted the non disclose, I was still unable to take screenshots, as all my pictures came out solid black... all 87 of them LOL.
Perhaps Kris will post his pictures. Watching 4x trooper rocket launchers blow stuff up with one action was rather impressive. Did you know... if two rockets blow up and kill a mob, while the body is flying backwards... the second two rockets will follow the body, and exlpode on the carcass. glorious!
Yes i noticed that last night myself. I also noticed if you stagger your Sticky-nades ever so slightly as well you get that similar exploding body flying around type effect.
I also noticed a few other issues, let me know if anyone else ran into these:
- Jumping off from various heights to lower ground causes your followers to run a weird path instead of following right behind you on the jump.
- When you press a key to jump or attacked using our current 2 step 2/1 action setup causes your toon to stop following and sometimes be out of range.
I have some minor fixes for all of these that im using right now: ie for the first one, i use my arrow keys to move my toons off cliffs now so it breaks follow, but for the run and gun/jumping forward i have not found a fix for it yet. Im hoping to get the run and gun/jumping forward removed as an issue but we may be stuck with it,
I definitely saw both of those.
How about this one.
- Using the sticky targeting, if you play imperial agent, your toon carrying blasters will be running in one direction, and targeting a mob behind you.. and his body will twist around far enough that it looks un-natural. I need to figure out a way to NOT tab target mobs that are behind me.
Oh and this isnt really a bug, but its helpful....
- you can let your companion take aggro if its looking like you arent going to survive... run, let him die... then instead of going back to his body to revive him, dismiss him, then resummon him back to health. I havent tried to dismiss a companion while in combat yet to see what happens.
After my beer buzz wore off...I figured this out.....
If you two box would you be able to solo the heroic quest?
I just hit my follow keybind when I was done. being ranged it wasnt as if I needed to hit it a million times after fighting everyone. a melee team however might be a different situation.
just the same in playing ranged in wow really, would have to break follow for ranged to stay back and atttack then put them on follow again after
really depends on your group make up. Last night i was using a Commando and Sage which both have decent CC, the Sage having the longer CCs, and both can heal. Sage also has a tank companion. I was able to do all of the heroics on Coruscant and then most of the ones i was able to get on Taris.
However, from what i hear the difficulty scales drastically after 25 in terms of the heroics, so im unsure 2 box + 2 companions can do it.
Also, current state of Flashpoints only Esseles which is the first flashpoint is truely dual box able with only 2 toons, as stated in the last patch notes Hammer Station had a lot of bugs and was overly difficult at 18 2 betas ago, and i wasnt able to get in there with a normal group to test it again. I do believe that most of the flashpoints will require 4 players rather than companions. So this is also food for thought if you wish to run your own flashpoints you might as well run 4 toons.
I made a keymap...step one target party member one...step two follow. I put the hotkey on one of my G13 buttons and set it to toggle once every second or so. So after I invite everyone to group....I hit the toggle button and viola..."Set it and forget it". It may not be pretty but with no macros...you gotta do what you gotta do.
Yeah... I'll take the toggle off and just press it after fights.
be nice to get an official response about the use of G Keyboards and macros.. There were a few threads discussing that in beta and never got an official reply. I think they know that sense they do not have macros, players will be using 3rd party ,methods to accomplish it.
How is this going to work with Origin? It doesn't appear that the beta client uses Origin to login. So come Live, how will we authenticate multiple accounts through a single Origin instance?
I'm trying to think how you would run two or more instances of Steam. Same issue, right?
They stated that you do not have to sign up for origin, download origin, or do anthing with origin to play the game you run the game through the launcher, which you can get from swtor.com
Sounds good. I'll keep all of my digital preorders then ;)
"Experience ultimate power and attain absolute control with the technologically revolutionary Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Gaming Keyboard by Razer." http://www.razerzone.com/swtor/keyboard This keyboard supports macros, hotkeys, ect. If I were to buy this TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR keyboard and not be allowed to use its macro features.....
that thing looks cool!
Damn, thats a nice looking keyboard. Macro's are on the way, hopefully that thing comes down in price by the time they hit lol
The WoW-branded SteelSeries mouse has those same functions, despite the fact that automation is very clearly against the rules of the game.

And now from the SteelSeries FAQ for the Cataclysm version, which is sold in the Blizzard Store -Quote:
The user manual is incredibly misleading about delays and loops...
Not only was I shocked to read such "gray area" material in point one and most-definitely-against-the-rules material in item #2, but they followed up that section in the user guide with...Quote:
1. Timing Control
Text (Auto Delay) - This option is selected by default and is designed to optimize the delays for proper in-game performance. If you are not sure what option to use - simply leave this option on.
Record Delay - When selected, it will record the delays in real time reflecting your typing speed when creating a macro. This option is useful when you need precise real-life timing for some advance macros.

2. Looping
You can loop the macro by enabling the Loop check-box and specifying the number of repetitions.

Noob questions incoming.
I only learnt about inner space and ISBoxer after the beta weekend and have since registered and installed it after reading this forum.
So my questions:
1) If I press launch is it meant to open 1 launcher or 2? Or does it open the second launcher after you hit play on the first one?
Just from watching a video on the site it opened up 4 WOW launchers for him, but mine is currently opening up 1 swtor launcher. (I have the latest versions of both Inner Space and ISBoxer as I just downloaded them and have added the launch path to inner space and exported my char set from Isboxer)
2) Regarding the targeting etc, I have a G19 and I was thinking I would do the following.
- Make the targeting the 2nd party member (F2) also have a second key bind in game lets say shift f2
- Make the target of target Alt+T currently I think, have a second key, lets say shift f3
- Make a key bind for follow, lets say shift f4
- Program a G key to fire shift F2, shift F3 and shift F4 to all the windows excluding the current
Would this mean I only have to press the one G key to get the 2nd character to both follow and get the mains target in 1 button press?? - If you have a better suggestion for me please let me know.
Other things I picked up on where that:
- I need to disable instant swapping
- I need to enable make the game believe it is running in the foreground
- Need to enable the hold option for mapped keys for the modifiers to work
- Check option to allow access to same class quest, just need to run the quest twice
- Shift + Alt + m - keymap toggle
- Shift + Alt + r - repeater toggle
Anything else important there for a complete noob to this???
Thanks in advance!!
You launch your teams from the innerspace icon on your taskbar. just click your chosen team name
When you enter in your swtor login details into there swtor launcher, the game loads to the server/character section screen. This is when swtor launcher two will popup wanting details for your second account.
every game works differently, swtor is a pain in having to deal with 1 launcher at a time :(
EDIT:
If you run the IsBoxer wizard to create your teams, two buttons appear in the top left corner of your game window that control turning keymaps and repeater off and on or use the shortcutsQuote:
- Shift + Alt + m - keymap toggle
- Shift + Alt + r - repeater toggle

Hey guys I was asked to chime in with the setups I use. I haven't read the entire thread yet to see if you have come up with the same solutions that I have, but I am pressed for time at the moment!
If this is helpful awesome, if not sorry for being redundant ;p
Assist
Execute when hotkey pressed or released.
Step 1
Target Party 1
Step 2
Acquire Target of Target
Follow (I find this setup very useful for melee DPSing, I will explain more later!)
Execute when hotkey pressed or released.
Step 1
Target Party 1
Follow target
Step 2
Acquire Target of Target
Companion Attack
Execute when hotkey pressed or released.
Step 1
Assist
Companion attack hotkey (Just the default one in game, or whatever you change it to)
Step 2
Companion attack hotkey
DPS Spam
Execute when hotkey pressed or released.
Step 1
Assist
DPS Abilities in priority (Cooldowns first!)
Step 2
Follow
Companion Attack
For the above hotkey, I have another version that I will use if I am using ranged characters. The ranged version removes the follow command on the second step. I use this version situationally for more micro intensive fights. Otherwise I just use the above version with autofollow.
The way the DPS spam macro works is this. Every time you press the hotkey, you first assist party member 1, you fire off the first DPS ability you can, and then on the keystroke release you autofollow which reacquires the NPC you are currently DPSing. In addition, you can choose to have all companions focus fire with you by selecting who you send that command to, or you can have just the DPS companions focus fire while any tank companions are excluded from such commands.
To give you a brief overview of my total setup. I setup a specific hotkey for every DPS ability. I use shift f1-f11 and ctrl shift f1-f11 on my left and right sidebars respectively.
One pitfall I can hopefully help you avoid is that you need to ensure that you use the SAME modifiers for things like target party X and follow target and acquire target of target. For example, since I use shift in all of my keys, I need to make sure my hotkeys that relate to assisting and following also use shift. This might be an obvious situation but I accidentally broke my assist and follow hotkeys one afternoon and spent the next 2 or 3 hours trying to figure out what the hell was wrong :)
If this is helpful, glad to help. If there are any further questions feel free to fire them I will pay more attention to this thread now that I know one PC is and that this thread is active.
The target of target at the end of the follow macro is very useful because it keeps your slaves targeted on the target. This may be more of an aesthetic, but I felt like I was missing fewer attacks with the slave character when it was remained targeting the NPC I was killing rather than targeting me, targeting my target, swinging, targeting me, targeting my target etc.
This system works fine for strictly melee characters and ranged characters. However, it is not as streamlined for Operatives/Scoundrels that are primarily a melee class that also has some ranged abilities. What happens is that your slave character(s) will do a sort of stop and go shuffle as they run towards the target to begin meleeing it. They will take a step, shoot with their freebie attack, take a step, shoot with the freebie attack. It isn't a huge deal when you are fighting elite, strong or boss level monsters. You do have some efficiency issues with grinding out normal level monsters however as you will do the majority of the damage with the main character.
With the DPS spam, what happens is, on the first keystroke down you acquire the target and fire off a DPS ability. On the keystroke up you stay on the target (because the follow macro tells you to do target of target) and follow. It works flawlessly for pure melee teams. Your guys will buzz around you staying on target doing good DPS!
If you guys want, I can give my full run down of how I run my setup sort of Mosg2 manifesto style. I tend to establish a framework as much as possible to allow for as much plug and play of a keyset to a character set as possible.
