Yeah same issue here, the other day it was simply timing out afer around 20 seconds.

Also getting that (-22) error :|, No doubt it will be sorted soon :-)
There's alot of protective people in here, do you all own stock in lavishsoft or something? :D
If a product doesn't work you should be dissapointed, I never had this problem with keyclone.
Ï had that problem with keyclone a few times so its not just Isboxer. Both are realy good software.
But atm Keyclone is 100% better cuz its up and running =P
I wish I had stock in it :( but I doubt Lavishsoft has stocks to sell, lol.
If the other people feel like I do then it's like this. We really like ISBoxer and couldn't imagine boxing without it  Personally I support products I believe in and ISBoxer has made multiboxing so easy for me it's been an answer to my prayers.
A few hours loss of service is nothing and just saying as a user of the product the past 2 days have been the only time it's been down in my 4 months of use. Like I said I support what I believe in so I'd hate to have a new user come along and see this thread thinking it's a regular thing because it isn't.
I've experienced the Keyclone servers as down, five or six times.
Which really is a very small amount of time, for the duration of my usage of that product.
Nothing against KC specifically, I'm grateful to Rob for such an easy product to introduce me to the world of boxing; however, IS:Boxer offers features which are lacking in KC.
With IS Boxer, I have:
- Automatic FTL (assist not based on Focus, Party Leader or Target).
- Instant window swaps.
- Accurate mouse broadcasting - ground target AoE's or talent selection.
- Repeater regions for heals, macros or hearthstones.
- Clickable buttons which execute mapped keys.
- Mapped keys which provide amazing flexibility, which in the boxing world is power.
I don't own stock in Lavishsoft or IS Boxer, but really like the product and what it allows for boxers.
There are the referrals, which extend your subscription to Inner Space, which is a nice bonus for word of mouth advertisement.
We fixed the backup server the other night, it came online correctly but the script that automatically set it up didn't run the license server correctly. I fixed it as of now.
The main server is having a problem with its power supply, the replacement hasn't come in yet. Believe me when I say this whole thing is more upsetting to me than it is for any of you!
Thanks!
Lax,
Working in the IT industry myself, I can appreciate that these things happen, and certainly I worked my around it, as I'm sure did everyone else who really wanted to play tonight (for myself, I reverted to my KeyClone setup).
Believe me when I say this, as a new user, who'se now had 2 outages in 6 days of subscribed time, I am fully cognizant of the fact that's it's just my bad luck/timing is all, and I accept the testimony of others who say that this is a very unusual occurance.
I am certainly impressed with the scope and depth of the product as well as your prompt support and replies whenever I've had a question (as a product this configurable was bound to ellicit).
I would like though, if asking the question isn't out of line, to know whether some sort of "grace period" can be built into the softwares license check as it seems to me to be the most effective way to counter this sort of outage.
Is there no way to code a grace period into the license check such that hackers and other free-loading types couldn't use that code to keep resetting the grace period?
Alternately, would an extended period of pre-paid subscription suffice to gain access to a check-disabled version of the program?
While I'm in no danger of knocking Bill Gates off the Rich List, I am in a situation like I suspect most multiboxers are, where time to play is much more of a limiting factor than is the money devoted to doing so, thus I would be willing to pay a 2 or even 3 year sub up front, if it avoided the softwares dependence on a connection to a remote server.
The backup license server was supposed to be handling these outages, and since it has been fixed and now verified during an actual outage instead of a simulated outage, will be handling any outages for the foreseeable future. The replacement power supply arrived so we'll be taking down the main server temporarily to take care of that, so the web site will be down but the software will be taken care of by the backup
I'm considering ways to change the connection behavior when the next generation of software comes out (this year), but I don't plan on making changes to the licensing system for Inner Space in particular (at this point it's a bigger risk to change it than to leave it). I imagine the new software will probably require connecting when you first launch the software, but have a fallback if the server is unavailable when launching a game instance.
Lax,
It would be cool for the next gen to have innerspace / boxing tools all integrated into 1 thing.
The next generation software is indeed integrated into a single program. You won't even notice that it's running on the Inner Space 2 engine because you never have to see it or otherwise deal with it :)
I still don't seem to be able to log in. Is this because your installing the new power supply?
Edit: Seems to be working now. Not sure what was up, thanks Fenril.
Rumor has it that lax is gonna extend every current subscriber of isboxer his/her license with 2 days to make up for the downtime. Not confirmed though. Is this true?
Is it called a "rumor" when you're the one that starts it?
I don't mind comping people who were actually affected by the outages.
I was under the impression that my wording made it quite obvious that this rumor came from myself. If that was not the case then I want to apologize and blame it to the fact that i'm not a native english speaker. That being said, I don't think anyone is actually waiting for a comp worth a few cents (cost over a year / small outage). The modest price and the quality of the product is enough :) However I'm not affected as i'm not one of your users. That doesn't mean that it wouldn't be nice from your side to do that though, and it will make you even more loved than you already are.
Thx Lax for the fast Fixing
Needless to say I was quite upset at the time but it was probably the whiskey talking ;)
Overall I'm simply amazed by it and the ease of use. Haven't really read up on it much (which I really should) but with the wizard it makes it a cakewalk setting things up.
Lavish Soft and ISBoxer sites are both down again. Is this part of the primary server fix? I'm at work right now so can't test whether or not I can login to Wow with Innerspace/ISBoxer.
Affirmative.
The sites have been down for a while, but the backup server and license checks are fine.
Chances are it is the power supply thing, getting done.
At least the back up is running fine.
So there is uninterrupted service, for anyone who wants to wow.
Web sites are back up as of now. As Fenril said, the new PSU failed pretty much immediately. We had to migrate to different hardware overnight. The backup handled the software perfectly during that time (phew!)
Looks like its down again =/
Cant connect...man, I just got home to play and cant even start up the app. :(
im glad I got an sc2 beta invite a few days ago heh
yep down for me also
that's why "phone home" software is evil ;-) [yes flame me to death... go ahead about saying wow itself phones home... well blizz as a point of failure is part of the deal for the game... and with multi billion$ you can expect they do have some bcp and redundancy plans and can afford it (including affording to test them, a plan that's not tested is just going to not work... by murphy's law]
that's why hotkeynet rocks
man, it's killin me...last level to go for 80..have 9+ pvp epics sitting in my bags and I am sure will get a couple more by the time I hit 80.
Wanted to push through tonight but looks like its not going to happen.
The backup server is running and handling connections just fine, sorry if there was a few minutes there with it down (or possibly just going really slow for a few minutes)
So the migration of the web sites is going right now, we couldn't finish that last night. We'll be back on the main server in an hour or two.
still no go cant log into innerspace =-(
I've been watching it and test launching just fine for a while. If you're affected by the outage send me an email tomorrow and I can comp your account, but I'm watching lots of people connect atm.
Mah keyz, mah keyz!
