Yeah same, im gonna chill on my server if its just gonna be a pvp guild.

I don't see why you say it won't work :).
I also forgot to mention that GIMP is not exclusively for multiboxers.
There are (gladly) single account players that do PvE and/or PvP. Rated BGs must in my opinion count also on several single account players to really work.
I am a former PvE 10 boxer and for several reasons not worth mentioning here I'd rather do PvP now. Maybe I wasn't clear enough on my previous post but nothing stops multiboxers from the guild (and I'm sure many will) to raid. I'm just saying that you should not expect the guild to schedule/organize raids but feel free to do so.
Anyhow, we're already 6 multiboxers, some dual boxers and some single accs so there'll be plenty of things to do with all kinds of people in the guild.
As far as my personal experience goes it's not really "possible" to focus both aspects of the game, take both seriously and perform well in both. It requires a lot of time which most of us don't have.
There's always one main path and then all the rest the game has to offer. I just said that GIMP main path is currently PvP.
Even people with single accounts I don't know a single guild that is both hardcore pvp and pve and I believe for the exact same reason and I know a few that tried it, failed and disbanded. Again, not saying there isn't just that I don't know any.
Hello all =)
What Altsoba said is all correct =)
I can add that we (Gimp) are more a community guild than anything else. We have done both pve raids and arenas/bgs, and up until now it has been working great=) meaning we have ppl that want to do both, and my experience is that most ppl want to continue this. Right now, its pvp that is our focus tho.
For me personally and Gimp, community guild are the way to go. Several reasons for this. First, wow players tend to change goals as they go. Pve raids, pvp raids, doing random acheivements and battleground/arenas are all fun, but to have a guild that commit to make premades and pve raids on a reguar basis seems to not last. Its just hard finding the ppl that want to be in charge of "getting it all togheter". That said, we have/and have had several great raid leaders and pvp players that made a huge effort, and we got alot of fun out of it. But irl and changed goals ingame, make it difficult to have this 24/7 all year round, year after year. Ofc, when we get a member that want to make and effort and make pve raids etc, we accept with joy, and ppl join, but when the same player no longer wants to be in charge, we still love him/her :p This is diffferent for a "normal" guild i guess. If u play 1 char u probably want to farm and prepare for raids 6 days a week. Most boxers have several things to do tho, i have notices we tend to be "altaholics" and want a piece of what we can have, not exclude anything.
Commiting to people is easy tho =) I think we (boxers and others in Gimp) has been lucky to find other players with same interests to have fun with. So we will probably continue to do what we do atm, and now we even have a few new ppl that are leveling their team, welcome! Btw, Gimp are not a boxing only guild, we want mature/friendly ppl, if u play 1 or 10 chars dosent really matter =)
This beeing said. Its not nessecary to be in the same guild to have fun togheter. If more ppl transfer here, make their own guild, or join another, we can still hf as a group! Ironforge should not feel safe when the current boxers ding 80 either :D
As mentioned before, all boxers and their healers/friends are welcome to Gimp. Im sure all of u have lots of experience and are exellent boxers :D I feel obligated to say tho, that we are not a guild that boost ppl in instances, help with group quests or give gold "all the time". Dont get me wrong, we like to help eachother, but to rescue ppl that dont make the effort to solve their own problems, are not something that most ppl like having around. I have never experienced to not get help when needed tho, we have some great players =)
As Altsoba said, Grim Batol/Misery are not an easy battlegroup. We have a huge amount of active great pvp players so arenas here are probably harder than elsewhere. There are several good pve guilds here aswell, but if they are boxer friendly, i dont know. One of the big pve guilds have a boxer, but i dont know if he even boxed in raids or just joined with his main. ...oh and since its alot of people here auction house are well stocked, tho prices are high so prepare to farm daylies on your team to get gold if u move here :p
Sry for a bit messy post, and sorry for my typos :D Im w8ting for next WG when im writing this, farming gear on my shaman girls as usual :p
I think a bunch of multiboxers in the same guild will work great - I'm really missing that aspect of the game right now. Reading Altsobas post might give the wrong impression - that it's only 4+1 etc. I don't think that's what he meant.
As for me, I'm both PvE and PvP. Ideally I'd like to do 5-man when new content patches go in, 10- or 25-man raids once once in a while and PvP on top of that. I'm not counting on getting 2k rating anytime soon, but a focused rated BG team would be great, as long as there's still room for the more casual player (which in terms of PvP includes me, hehe).
One question for the Grim Batol people though - you mention that PvP competition is fierce and that there's "only" on 2k'er, but as far as I know, there's only about 4 multiboxers above 2k total, so I'm not sure that's a bad thing? I mean, fierce compared to what? :-)
Anyway, I'm looking forward to joining for sure!
im sure alot of us will do pve, such as my self, i do both sides thank bliz for dual spec, GIMP is the get together forming point for us right now to be at a central place to start off.
progression as like you said through cata is something alot of us would want to do im very sure of it ( moving to grim) or ones who are already there, if we form another Guild like i said later on still got a little while yet we can organise pve and pvp.
im already boosting my new team, were 20 already.
message us in game and join the guild for starting off point so we got a communiton channel :)
my toons are:
Funkinbubble dk
Funklnbubble pala
Funkinbubbel pala
Funkinbubbje pala
Funkinbubbel pala
love to see everyone together
Hehe we should all hit the lowbie BGs and cause havoc - I will not be playing seriously until next week though RL sux :(
No, don't get me wrong :) the 4+1 thing is one strategy as any other one 2+2+1 does the same as any other comp is possible too :) So far we're just theory crafting.
Regarding the BG, oc Beatriz is to praise to get that rating here. And I can only compare to what I see in arena s7 multiboxing videos around. And of all I've seen, teams from the same rating as those shown don't play like that. They're much more aggressive, use much more cc and los than what we see there. Now, cannot say that those videos represent the average or not. And it's more the fact that no other boxer reached 1.8k besides the 2k+ from Beatriz that makes me say that too. Or maybe we're all underskilled of course which is good since it means we have lots of possible improvement ahead of us ;).
As I have almost 0 pvp expirence and Im fairly slow to level, im considering waiting with a transfer of my toons until they are lvl 80 so I don't get ganked and "waste" time.... what do you think?
It sounds very interesting with the guild setup. I don't know if ill be mostly PvE orientated or PvP as I haven't explored the possibilities.
That would very much depend on your preferences. As a boxer on a pvp server you'll pretty much be wearing a bullseye on your back. Add to that the fact that PvP servers make griefing a lot more common and if you have no pvp experience, that can be pretty frustrating. That being said, a lot of people here have levelled up on PvP servers and being PvP while levelling will give you a headstart at pvp skills instead of having to start from scratch when you transfer over.
As for the ganking, it's not that bad. You just have to be willing to shrug it off - if someone is camping you, just don't release and get a cup of coffee or something. They'll give up pretty fast :-)
when leveling my characters i spend 90% of the time in instances so i avoid being ganked and when im 60, im the ganker. even 80 would run away sometimes lol..
since leveling is slow, but surely like my lvl 21's its been good to grind and talk to boxers in the process, makes things not so sllllooooooww.....
would be good to see you transfer if not start a new team now, when i hit 60 in hellfire its easy 8 levels and bam wotlk. its seriously easy to level ive done it time and time again with ALOT of characters.
i only get few hours a night to grind but thats 2-3 levels a day and 10-15 lvls a weekend. wont take long for me :)
Count me in aswell :)
My plans are to buy 5 new accounts with Cataclysm, get RAF on them and roll 5 Goblin Shamans on a brand new realm. Im sure there will be new realms because they've also added new realms at the release of WotLK and TBC.
My goals are to get realm first level 85 archievements on my shamans. Once im 85 and the rest will be 75, hopefully, to get into battlegrounds and heroics or normal dungeons to gear up. When the first healer reaches 85 i will try to get him into my arena team and start from the beginning.
Yes i am the retired multiboxer that is named Negativ1337.
Kind regards,
Chronic1337
Funny I was the first boxer to hit 70 on grimbarbal back in the days but alliance side sucks :( so i made hordes
So what is it gonna be ally or horde side ?
Thanks for the answers! For me PvP with a low level mage was some of the most fun I had in wow. Take into consideration that im lv 67 already, and probably 70 soon i should be able to do some damage with 5x druids even on a poor geared lvl 80....
Atm. I need to upgrade my toons with the wtlk expansion, but as they are on my Chrismas wish-list I can't go out and buy them myself or else my wife will kill me :D So ill probably do the transfer after chrismas.
When I hit 70 on my team ill probably start a new team on Grim Batol. just to join in on the quild etc. and learn you guys a bit better.
Im thinking of 4*mages 1*priest. I simply love mages.
I can´t say, i didnt reroll horde on grimbartol jumped to a whole new server :)
But I dont think ganking is an issue in icecrown and such, atleast back in the 70s where i did dailys on the isle noone ever got close to me :D
Selz, just come to GB horde side. Meet u there.
Merujo your back !! =) haha i knew it, then im comming :D
let the gank begin!
common people, at least give it a shot and start a new group to see how the guild is :)
many boxers online :)
I cant decide on what team I am going to level >_
What would be good "All Round Team" for a pvp server?
Ofcause it's up to personal preferences, but ill probably start a new team on cataclysm this weekend (friday) and hook up with you guys. If we are able to transfer just 10% of the awesomeness this site got into "our" guild it will be home away from home :D
I'm considering:
1x priest, 4*mages = Xzin setup = the winz or maybe not anymore but hey they seem fun! No instances though.
5xpaladins? Haven't tried a melee group - but they look awesome. But what happens if they get nerfed next patch or they change the macro function which lets us mb paladins. PvE and PvP
5xshamens - PvP and PvE
1xPriests + 4xWarlocks - PvP and PvE??
Any thoughts about this?
I have a 5xdruid team so if I transfer those or some of them, I would basically get to play any role.
I could respec my druid team for some melee fun to test it out and if it would work for me.
Full paladin team looks like fun - but don't you think they would be better for an alt team. I mean, it would suck if they changed something which nerfed them to bad.
Seldum, i would go for something as easy and original as tank + 4 shamans.
I only got 1 team. My main prot paladin, and four shamans. But oh, i can do anything i want. This setup is just the allround most flexible, you can do pve, pvp, instances, whatever you like. You can even go all melee if thats what you want, and have 1 spec resto instead.
This is the only reason I don't level one melee team, since it really seems a lot of fun. It just depends on new things implemented by Blizzard and since leveling is just too painfull to me I wouldn't like to see effort put to waste...
Not even talking about class nerfs, I still play my shamans and if someone has been nerfed since S4 it's this class but more the click to move and interact with. If they change or remove it the melee setup gets badly hit.
dk and 4 pally is what im focusing on atm, dk can be pvp and tank, paladins can be anything fun as they can play 3 roles. tank, healer, dps. dk will always be pvp and pve tank. i got 7-8 buffs with this group its sick. + bubbles for 6 seconds of murder.
its alot easier playing casters but ive been doing that since tbc so im switching up, so far last 2 teams ive enjoyed it and dont find too many problems. im starting to get expert on the melee responses to keep the team from going into a spaz, walk ftw on toggle.
im also considering when i get to wotlk doing 5x prot to do heroics,
Good point, and its actually my main concern. The race/class pros/cons change every patch. But no matter how they tweak it you can always play your toon.
If they change some macro functionality, click to move - then we are screwed with a melee team unless the class can cast spells with another build.
5x paladin healers isen't as cool as 5x melee pwnage l33t paladins. :D
I think I have decided on Pallies. Its the only team I wouldnt want to reroll/change race come cataclysm. Im gonna go all Goblin :) and I will roll Troll druids :)
Hey guys,
Since i had bad experiences with preordering expensions (with WotLK my order came 3 days later) i am deciding to buy Cataclysm x 5 on http://www.g2play.net/. The reason i buy my copy here is that Battlechests/WotLK is cheap, and you just get your authentication key e-mailed. I bought my copy of Call of Duty : MF2 there and my brother did aswell, and everything went really smooth! I paid with creditcard, 3 minutes later i had both serial keys in my mail, and i could start playing right away.
So if anyone is looking for cheap copy's check out that website!
Kind regards,
Chronic1337
i would also highly recommend, www.gameplay.co.uk or award winning www.play.com ive used these and i always get my software days before release from pre-orders. thats where i will order mine from.
/slap boxblizzard going off topic!
i am definitly in for this :P just tell me what server and when :D
I'm considering to move to Grim Batol with my 5box mixed team. I've lost my friend that was leveling his 5box team to join me for 10 man raids. He left the game weeks ago. :(
I'll most probably move if I can find another 1-3 5boxer(s) with PvE team (tank + rest) to join there and willing set up together a small progressing multibox-only guild for 2x5box WotLK 10mans. :)
Anyone interested?
