Yup very true. Though i have read some exceptions were made like wife bought the game for hubby and had it registered in wifes name...... so long as the last name was the same, cant confirm but still, not worth the risk.Quote:

and I will add, I disagree with this policy 100%, my wife, in the state of Texas, and I are seen as one person, she has legal right to act in my name, and I hers. But for what every reason they do not see it that way, I guess it is just to make THEIR life less stressful.
The issue is that Blizzard owns the accounts, not you. The issue becomes how Blizzard sees you and your wife, not how the state of Texas sees you.Quote:

I agree that I disagree with the wife bit but you are wrong. I am also in Texas, try having your wife get information from your doctor about you. If they are HIPPA compliant, unless you sign a release, your wife will not get anything. If she does the doctor is breaking the law and you can go after them. Even if you are "one" there are also other things you can not do for each other as well.
I am one of those who bought the game for the wife and set it up for her in my name (because I didn't read the TUA almost 3 years ago) and am trying to get it fixed now with out losing any accounts.
Now in all honesty if you REALLY REALLY wanted to challenge it you could take them to court over it. My guess is they probably have you "out lawyered" and it will take a while to get it settled. It would probably be faster to level up new toons and be cheaper to buy new copies of the game.

To the above two posters -- please either cite your official Blizzard source for this, or cease to speak of it on the forums. According to OUR official blizzard terms of use/eula, support forums, and the customer service forums (Thanks [url='http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=81588#post81588']BinaryZero[/url] for posting it) -- this is not the case.
You will want to take a look at the Community Guidelines to review our policy on discussions that encourage breaking the rules. In short, they are not allowed.
Unless you have an official Blizzard source to cite regarding this change in policy, please refrain from encouraging others to break the rules. Thanks.

If you disagree with the policy, then you are within your rights to click "I disagree" when the Terms of Use and EULA pop up on the screen. If you already clicked "I Agree", then you have already accepted the terms of the contract which directly contradicts your opinion. I'd suggest cancelling your account if at any time you do not agree with Blizzard's policies.
The primary purpose (at least that I can see -- and this is opinion) for not allowing account names to be changed even within the family -- is that allowing account transfers makes it easier for hackers to not only gain access to your account but to transfer the account ownership to themselves.
As I said in the my first of two posts, when I quoted you that it IS the rule, that is why I made it two post, one was the official facts, one was how I feel about it. I know I have the right to click i do not agree. i think you misquoted in your first post, I was the one who copied and pasted your post for them... but anyway sorry for ruffling feathers.

Doesn't change the FACT that I have READ there were some exceptions made in the PAST with husband/wife accounts, not sharing but transfering.
