Yeah, with the 80 warrior and 78 priest I would have thought the instances would be easy. Very interesting.
I know back in the day leveling my mixed team and running instances with my mixed team it was really difficult to get my setup right so everyone stays alive and I put out enough DPS to kill the boss. Losing a DPS would usually mean a wipe unless the boss is really low already. The 5x shaman teams were just blowing through all the content with their raw damage output. Trading 2 DPS for a tank and healer really makes you work for the boss kills.
Then I conform and roll my 5 shaman and I get to WotLK and I cannot just brute force the bosses down. I had to take a few months off to regroup lmao.

I put all my dps toons in the frostwoven set gear from the tailoring profession. Doing this significantly rasied their dps. Before they were doing a bonus damage of 550-750, now they have 850-950. Their DPS before was 800, now 1000. This made enough of a difference to down Anomalus. I ran out of mana right at the end, just in time for the boss to die.
Finally down a nexus boss. Now for the other 3...

Good to see you overcame your first problem :)
Often when I have trouble with an instance I gain 1 lvl questing, then come back and kick ass to get my revenge.

Are you at least going to do the quests that open up areas of Northrend? Mainly Sons of Hodir and Icecrown / Ebon Blade areas. If you don't open these areas up, you'll be limited in things like shoulder / head enchants and lots of dailies.

The icecrown quests, particularly almost everything out of Ebon Hold and the air ship, plus that platform overlooking the harbor, open up a ton of dailies.

Yes I will be doing those. I want to open up the dailies for sure. I am just trying to minimize the pain of leveling to 80 in NR. Hopefully when cataclysm comes out there will be other level 70-80 zones.
