Gemming for heroics - and +hit questions

Heroic bosses are usually (always?) level 72, which according to http://www.wowwiki.com/Spell_hit means that we need to equip 6% hit (not including talents - usually druids get 4% from talents and shaman 3%), meaning we need to gear for 2/3%. If have a druid with improved fairy fire, you need exactly zero hit rating - if not you need 26/13 hit rating, which is by no means a lot. Basically you can go all out on dmg/crit/haste or whatever kills your potatoes as long as you don't do raid bosses.

Is this correct or did I misunderstand the article linked?

I believe you are correct.

Since you are already hit capped, this is more for other readers of the post - don't forget the Draenei racial gives another 1%.

In Burning Crusade, gaining 5% hit (Gear, Talents and Buffs) made you hit capped in heroics. (1% miss chance)
Similarly gaining 16% made you hit-capped in raids. (1% miss chance)

In WotLK, rather then being capped at 1% miss, we can raise our hit a further percentage, reducing our miss chance to 0%.
So heroics or 82nd level mobs will likely have a hit-cap of 6% and raids of 17%.

I thought bosses were always lvl+3 .. could be wrong.

Raid bosses are +3 - not 5-man bosses.
