Hey Vyndree,

I started 5 boxing 2 days ago, and now playing 1 lvl 18 prot paladin 4 lvl 18 elemental shaman on Jaedanar EU. Anyways, when im boxing how do you press your shaman spells?
I am like, oh yeah i need to tank (where i almost have no time for because they die fast), and i am like pressing 2 and 3 (2=lightning bolt / 3 is shocks) so my shamans keep nuking them down, i cant hold agro aswell.

Anyways on bosses or something, do you just click your paladin abilities and press your shaman ones? Or do you have usefull keybinds for them?
And with healing i have one macro that they all heal me, but 4x healing wave gives me like 200% healing. Although i hope this will be less with lesser healing healing spell.

I am multiboxing cheap though, 5 boxing on one computer and i dont have Xkeys. I do have a logitech G15 keyboard.

I hope you understand what i was meaning, im dutch so my english isn't that great.

I hope you will answer this post, :)

THAT is your question for Vyndree ? Mine would be something like: wow girl, damn, are you single ? and willing to relocate to the northern part of europe ? :love:

More seriously, you should in that case setup your skills bound differently - paladin tanking can be done using mostly 4-5 keybinds, being SoR, Judgement, Consecration, taunt (when you get it), and Avengers Shield - add clicking for more abilities.

Then have other keybinds for your shaman dps.

In regards to overhealing constantly, downrank your heals. Use 1-2 lower ranks, which will also save you loads of mana, og make macros so only 2 of your shamans heal, and the others keep blasting. :)

It will become more natural, and you have the "cookiecutter" setup in that group :)

If i knew that i'd rolled alliance lol.

What does cookiecutter means as setup and what keybinds do you recommend? Shift 1 to 5 for pala keybindings and the rest like 1-12 for shaman ones?
I also use F - Z - X - C - G - H - ` on my mage, maybe i can use them for my paladin at some point

Thanks a lot,

Hey Vyndree,

Hello. :)

I started 5 boxing 2 days ago, and now playing 1 lvl 18 prot paladin 4 lvl 18 elemental shaman on Jaedanar EU. Anyways, when im boxing how do you press your shaman spells?

I'm confused about this question. Are you asking what my keybindings are?

I am like, oh yeah i need to tank (where i almost have no time for because they die fast), and i am like pressing 2 and 3 (2=lightning bolt / 3 is shocks) so my shamans keep nuking them down, i cant hold agro aswell.

Well you're going to find that, depending on what level/gear your tank is, you are going to need to let it get some "lead time" on threat. What I do is I typically play as a "clicker" -- that is, I click my pally's buttons -- until she has enough threat to let the dps go wild. :) Giving all of your characters a threat meter -- my favorite is Omen -- works wonderfully.

I'm assuming your original question was about bindings so here goes (this is how things are currently):
Main bar (dps bar)
1 = lightning bolt / holy shield
2 = frost shock / hammer of wrath (mostly for PvP/questing)
3 = purge / nothing
4 = earth shock / hammer of justice
5 = chain lightning / consecrate
6 = searing totem / nothing
7 = fire nova totem / nothing
8 = magma totem / nothing
0 = health pot
- = mana pot
= = food/water

SHIFT bar (healing bar)
SHIFT+1 = flame shock / seal of vengeance
SHIFT+2 = chain heal off myself / nothing
SHIFT+3 = LHW / nothing
SHIFT+4 = Healing Wave / nothing
SHIFT+5 = Chain Heal / nothing
SHIFT+5 = Gift of the Naaru/ nothing

CTRL bar (totem bar)
CTRL+1 = Mana Spring Totem + Healing Stream Totemx3 / nothing
CTRL+2 = WoA + GoA + WF + Windwall totem / nothing
CTRL+3 = Tremorx2 + Stoneskin + Str / nothing
CTRL+4 = Groundingx4 / nothing
CTRL+5 = Staggered tremor x4 / nothing
CTRL+6 = Totemic Call / nothing
CTRL+7 = Poison Cleansex2 / nothing
CTRL+8 = Disease Cleansex2 / nothing

Clickable buttons for pally: All other seals, judgement, bubbles, taunt

I suppose you could replace "nothing" with "holy shield" since you will always want to spam holy shield, but that's up to you.

Anyways on bosses or something, do you just click your paladin abilities and press your shaman ones? Or do you have usefull keybinds for them?

See above :)

And with healing i have one macro that they all heal me, but 4x healing wave gives me like 200% healing. Although i hope this will be less with lesser healing healing spell.

See my "conditional backup healing ('http://dual-boxing.com/wiki/index.php/Macro:Conditional_Backup_Healing')" to see how I do it.

Basically, I assign 2 shammies to "LHW duty" and 2 shammies to "Healing Wave duty". If one of them dies, the other one takes over. This makes it so that at any given time, I have 2 and only 2 shaman casting a heal when I tell them too, or I can have 2 LHW queued up and 2 HW queued up at the same time if I'm taking massive damage.

Here's an example with ShammyA, B, C, and D...

ShammyA:

/stopcasting [target=shammyB,help,nodead]
/cast Lesser Healing Wave

/cast Healing Wave

ShammyB:

/cast Lesser Healing Wave

/stopcasting [target=shammyA,help,nodead]
/cast Healing Wave

ShammyC:

/stopcasting [target=shammyD,help,nodead]
/cast Lesser Healing Wave

/cast Healing Wave

ShammyD:

/cast Lesser Healing Wave

/stopcasting [target=shammyC,help,nodead]
/cast Healing Wave

I am multiboxing cheap though, 5 boxing on one computer and i dont have Xkeys. I do have a logitech G15 keyboard.

I mostly use the xkeys for buttons that are useful but don't need to be right there at my fingertips. Like mounting, or heroism, or water shield/lightning shield. An xkeys is not essential, but it is helpful.

I hope you understand what i was meaning, im dutch so my english isn't that great.

Sounds fine to me. I wouldn't have known english wasn't your first language. :)

Hey, we understand Skuggo -- we can understand you. ;)

I hope you will answer this post, :)

Wish granted. :)

Wow,

This must have taken a while to post :) I really am thankfull for that :)

Yeah i already remade my macro's, i got one macro for healing my paladin with rank 1 healing wave, one macro makes my shamans heal my target with healing wave rank 1, and the last macro heals themselves with rank 4.
I also just did full WC, i did wiped and the run took me about 1.5 hours, but it was fun to learn new stuff and im really glad everything worked out. Even the last elemental boss i killed, although my paladin died and one of my shamans.

I am going to read your post more carefully now and see if i can make/remake any new/old macro's.

Anyone knows if i could get Xkeys delivered in Holland?
And what enchant do you prefer on a shield? I can't get shieldspikes since i dont have blacksmithing. I got First Aid + Enchanting.
And which key do you use for spread out/formations?
I got insert for:
toon main forward
toon 1 left
toon 2 right
toon 3 back
toon 4 forward

I got numpad 2 for:
toon main backward
toon 2 right
toon 4 left

I got numpad 3 for:
toon 1 more right
toon 3 more left

But they are kinda far away and now its bothering me for sliding my hand everytime to numpad when i want to spread out.

Btw i like your humor :D,

Thanks a lot and greetings,

Yeah i already remade my macro's, i got one macro for healing my paladin with rank 1 healing wave, one macro makes my shamans heal my target with healing wave rank 1, and the last macro heals themselves with rank 4.

I've consolidated this into one macro:
(keep in mind I use /focus to assign my main in battlegrounds, but otherwise I use "party1" which is party leader to figure out who the "main" is)

/cast [target=focustarget,help,nodead][target=party1target,help,nodead][target=focus,help,nodead][target=party1,help,nodead][target=player] Healing Wave
RED = heal my target
BLUE = heal main
GREEN = ZOMG HEAL YOURSELF WE GONNA DIE!!!

/cast [target=focustarget,help,nodead][target=party1target,help,nodead][target=focus,help,nodead][target=party1,help,nodead][target=player] Healing Wave

RED = heal my target
BLUE = heal main
GREEN = ZOMG HEAL YOURSELF WE GONNA DIE!!!

So if you have no target, they heal you?
If you have a target they heal your target, and when they dont have a target how do you make them heal themselves?
Or are they checking which one has the lowest hp?

Sorry im not good with macro's, i know the basics of them :P

And ding 21x5 :D Got my healing stream totemz. Quest was a pain with all the traveling.
Shall i go on 21 for SFK, BFD or RFK? (rfk i mean the agamaggan dungeon, the 22-25 one)
I use a shaman/4 pala team so maybe one dungeon give nice lewts for both.

Thanks for the time you put in this post, me <3 you.

Also i logged in on IRC, if you want to explain it to me there if thats easyer for you, although im going to bed now ;p

If you have a target they heal your target, and when they dont have a target how do you make them heal themselves?

Like I said above, I do have a "chain heal off myself" button specifically for when I want to heal myself (i.e. healing AoE damage). If my "main" dies they will heal themselves using the normal heal buttons. Otherwise, if my main is alive, I just look at the person I want to be healed and they heal that person.

So I don't really see where healing each individual would be useful unless my tank is dead -- since my tank can always specify (by looking at) the target I want to heal.

This is why I enjoy the paladin style of tanking -- you can hold aggro based off of reflective damage, so looking at a different target for a moment isn't going to hurt anything.

Well, yeah i meant like, if a mage comes in and tries to aoe all my chars, then i press that macro then they all heal themselves (i dont have chain heal yet too ofcourse). But im going to use your macro now, and see how it works.

Thanks for explaining, :love:

Well, until you get chain heal you can always replace the "chain heal off myself" button with "heal myself with LHW/HW" :)
