Yaaaawn!
Ok to early to say for sure, BUT... Who else is hyped for boxing on vanilla servers? IF they keep the game like it was back then combined with the new boxing tools and techniques..man....I'm hyped. But I'm not getting the hopes up to high.

I think boxing will be way more powerful then it was back then. Because there are many more of us and we all have learned a lot since then and >>ISBOXER.
That is why I'm afraid it wont be true classic, and they will keep /follow out of the BGs

Well, I was wondering about this. What classes might be fun to play in vanilla. Maybe 5 hunters would be good. Or a shaman and four sword rogue for windfury silliness. What do you guys think?

no guarantee things like IWT will migrate to a classic server that didn't include it.

True, when was IWT added?

I'm fairly certain that it wasn't around in TBC, so Wrath?
I would assume they more or less use the current engine for the classic servers, with all the mechanics and limitations that are in place on live servers. Just roll back class mechanics to more or less what they were in Vanilla. With some fixes ofc, since a lot of things were completely broken.

Pretty sure IWT came in with WotLK

I might try it if it's already included in the sub otherwise not sure what the point is. The game has come so far since then. I can imagine it would become boring very quickly. Back then it was fun because it was new and it was also going somewhere. Now its old and going nowhere. I miss the old days of wow but it won't be the same now.

They said that it was classic servers, so based on that wording I imagine it'd be another server option with the sub.
So, lets say IWT isn't introduced I guess the casters would be the ones that would be boxable and maybe hunters?
There were no aoe CC abilitys except fear in Vanilla. No solar beam, no ring of frost, no aoe disarm, no aoe silence, no knockbacks. Nothing of all this sh** that screws nowadays boxing up in PvP.
So I guess boxing on Vanilla might be as good as during TBC or Wotlk times.
I guess when it comes to pvp ele shamis would be once again the best setup because of tremor totem and the strong heals.
The problem with Hunters is that they weren't able to use range attacks when the opponent is close to them. Also hunters had hardly any abilitys to keep the opponents on distance.
So the enemys would just need to run in melee range and the hunter team has nothing but the dmg of the pets.
Btw, on Vanilla u had to kill the boss in order to win a AV battle. There were no ressources. AV sometimes lasted several hours.
Sounds like a PvP paradise for multiboxer. Just deff the king room all day long and farm HKs.
I just hope they wont remove follow from BGs....

i been looking at this a lot.
its very unliky we have Vanilla jamba unless they add in addon comms and update lua, that i feel they just simply will not do. same for ITW its not a simple add in, same there was a interview i read where stuff like mounts/looms and auto loot even will not be added so unliky to see itw. There words was you asked for Vanilla! and that's what you get apart from server/game breaking bug fix's
From some stuff i seeing there keeping it more Vanilla then i was hoping for.
As for follow it goes down to how there hacking to remove follow and if they have the tech to do it. (but again follow bots might be a problem so they would have to) (( but even then how long would it take to get the tech to this level!))
we don't know how the costs works yet.
and they might simply just ban Vanilla mutliboxing unlikey but could be done.
as well am told the team is very small for this. and its a more Vanilla and see how it goes. after all the kids get it out there system it might just die off.
i don't think we see it for at least a year. probs a lot of info around next blizzcon

I highly doubt that when u consider how succesful Nostalrius used to be. They had +10k players on their realm and it was even a unofficial server.
The interest in legacy servers is definitely there. Not only in Vanilla but also in TBC and Wotlk.
Also check this interview with J.Allen Brack: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-11-04-wow-classic-blizzard-answers-some-of-the-big-questions

It works decent with a adjust camera position macro and broadcast next click.
Once u get used to it u can quest nearly as smooth as with IWT+CTM.

ya i don't mean die off to nothing but i can see 1m the day and then back to to 12k after that (((just a guess))
this would make making realms a right pain in the A** and maybe dead server and with no cross realm or LFG etc. unless they do free moves there is so much for them to plan.

Question is: will isboxer work, I believe isboxer released during BC, Am i correct? I'm sure it can be done, patched. I don't think they ban multiboxers, but follow will be removed from BG's. I think with ok gear and even having 5x chars, even as i remember in BC expansion, everything will die under your finger tips, I'd be happy to play 5x or 10x shamans again! :) and start fresh, I think.

Is boxer works with vanilla. Some of the utilities dont work, and jamba dosent work. but IS-boxer is my first choice for vanilla.

I guess the main reason why blizzard added "interact with target" in wotlk was to make it easier to talk to NPCs. Not sure how it is nowadays on retail but on older Xpacs it often happend that some NPCs were so crowded with players that it was quite hard to right click on these NPCs to talk to them. Some ppl were even intentional staying with their fat mount inside the NPC so nobody can talk to him.
On Vanilla u have to talk to the NPC in order to queue for BGs so I guess there will also be this NPC blocking issue.
So maybe there is hope that they will add IWT as a quality of life additions to vanilla which would make melee boxing possible.
I think they will also add dual-spec as a quality of life addition.

You should know that the extreme majority of people wanting to play vanilla are actually the older players of wow. You can expect when it is released that the kids will mostly remain on current servers.

I remember I started boxing in vanilla. Clicking back and forth between screens. I think I used all macros. I had a pocket healer in tow. Can't wait to see how Classic plays out and if we can box it.

They added IWT for folks with disabilities and I expect them to keep all the 'disabled persons' assists in the game because that is what Blizzard is now (inclusive, not exclusive). This may have been one the hurdles they solved.
The early version of IsBoxer was just 3 apps with configuration files that we had to manually edit and that was during BC. Seeing the progression of ISBoxer over so many years has been a joy. I remember when Lax first posted on this forum he was not particularly welcomed. :)
I saw Xzin on my server during vanilla and immediately wanted to do THAT. I boxed 8 accounts in EQ1 with multiple pc's/keyboards and wanted to do that with WoW. I only had 3 accounts in vanilla and manually boxed them. My first 'team' was in BC and I used Keyclone, like a lot of folks did.
I would love to see classic WoW with the classic environment/dungeons/raids but with the modern backbone. 64 bit exe, current generation Lua script, DX11 etc
