1. I don't understand why you need IWT for melee. Is it for facing?

I currently have ISBoxer set up so it sets Jamba Master/Follow up switching characters. I assume I have to disable that.

2. Is this the right sequence to use IWT?
-use Jamba strobe to get close to target but out of aggro range
-turn off Jamba strobe
-press the ISB IWT hotkey
-click on the target
-attack the target
-if target moves, repeat the previous 3 steps

You're making things far too complicated. MiRai just made a video for using IWT (http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=45676) and I just did complimenting writeup on it in the Newb's boxing guide (http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=36955), starting at the bottom of post 4.

Jamba strobe is not something I'd suggest using. It's great for certain things, but standard combat is not one of them. All you need is a key for IWT, either tied into your spam key or as an individual key.

I can see how using regular follow instead of strobe would be good since I don't have to turn it off to attack. When I started boxing I had a lot of problems with broken follow and that is why I started using Jamba strobe.

I actually watched MiRai's video before starting this thread. He talks about how spamming IWT with CTM can cause the toon to go off. That gave me the impression that I had to CTM. But I guess what he meant is that ISB is doing the IWT and CTM.

I use Jamba follow strobing only when traveling or on certain fights, where having the slaves on constant follow is preferable. I use it with General Husam and High Prophet Barim in Heroic Lost City so I can kite them around by walking my tank around backwards. But in normal fights, follow strobing can severely impact your DPS because your slaves will keep turning to face you in stead of the mob.

Building IWT into your spam key is personal preference. I don't like it because spamming often causes runaways. It's easy enough to use it manually only when I need it.

Click to Move is needed to allow your slaves to move in range of the target. If you use a melee team, you will need to use it.

That is a good idea.

I set up IWT for 3 toons. For the last action in the first step, I accidently used 'Window: All w/o Current'. Once I figured that out I deleted the action and changed it to 'Window: All w/ Current'. But now none of the toons move when I use the IWT hotkey.

I'm no help with ISBoxer, so I don't know if there's other settings in there, but do you have click to move enabled still? I know I saw something about consoleinteract {?} somewhere that might be part of the ISBoxer config for IWT. Consoleinteract toggles click to move on and off instead of having to use the ingame menu options.

When I recreated the action I choose the wrong hotkey. I got it sorted out.

When fighting it is difficult for me to tell if the slaves are facing properly. I guess that is why people spam the IWT key.

Spamming IWT is best in PVP with moving targets. I usually try to avoid spamming in PVE. One or two presses when you aren't sure they are facing the right way should get them in the right direction.

Is a spam key a macro? I've been thinking I need to start getting into macros.

Yes, a spam key is a single key that you have using cast sequences so you don't have to keep track of a dozen different keys every fight. Most people use a multi-step system.

ISBoxer Multi-step (http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=33080)
HKN Multi-step (http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=33160)
In-game Swap Action Bar (http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=34310)

I personally don't like Strobe at all.
But you can use it, if you like.
That is a preference.

I've given FTL Follow Me, a hotkey.
A mouse thumb button, that is in very easy reach all the time.
I'm in the habit of pressing that after combat or periodically as I travel.

IWT can be spammed in PvE play.
Your toons will circle about the target, just as in PvP play.
You could alternatively press the key once, until the toons are adjacent to the target.
At which point, they will stop moving.
And if you were to spam it then, they would not run off at all.

I have IWT as two mapped keys.
One has a hotkey, and goes to all characters (this is used for having the group use Flight Masters or for interacting with Quest givers).
The other has no hotkey, and only goes to the melee group (this is for combat use).
Then there's a toggle which enables/disables the melee only IWT.

The post you linked from the last thread http://www.dual-boxing.com/showpost.php?p=312469&postcount=3 has fairly detailed instructions on doing this.

My toggle is just a two-step mapped key that... on one step enables the Melee IWT and on another disables it.
When the mapped key is enabled, pressing the "Spam" key for DPS also has the melee toons do their IWT stuff.
When the Melee IWT key is diabled, the Spam Key cannot call that mapped key via the imbedded Do Mapped Key action.

I use IWT 2 or 3 times at the start of an encounter. In an hour of play toons have wandered off several times. Once two of them went over the side of a mountain.

Is the distance to target a factor with toons wandering off?

It can be, as I explain in depth in the post I linked earlier.

I read that yesterday but missed the continuation post.

Today I had my slaves run off during a fight when I was not using IWT.

Anytime I tell my Spacegirls to move somewhere, there is a chance they might be interested in something and decide to venture off to investigate...
I hear Spacegirls are not the only ones susceptible to this.

If you have Click to Move enabled, and it needs to be for IWT to move your toons, then be careful anytime you mouse broadcast or use a Repeater Region on your screen.
If you have your toons IWT a target, be ready with your countermeasures against toons running off.

You can prevent this with:
A) Slave independent movement key... in the IS Boxer toolkit, look up the mapped key, "Others Jump". The target is Window: All Without Current. I have the arrow keys go to my slave windows only, which allows me to press down arrow, and have the slaves stop moving.
B) Have them IWT with something else... IWT has a range approximately 3x further than /Follow... You can give them a new target as a means to regroup.
C) If all your toons are fairly close, or the mob is dead and combat has just ended, press your /Follow hotkey.

Aside from when you use IWT in conjunction with CTM, toons running off is not that common.
As you go on, you get used to running wide around corners in cities (so the followers don't get stuck on corners), or checking that they've followed as you cross a phase line in wow (independent slave movement, up arrow for me... can have them move forward independently, to each cross the phase line), etc...

The search function is your friend.
If you know who made the post/thread, the site search (advanced search, posts/threads made by Whoever) is a good tool.
If you're searching for a topic in general, then Google with +site:dual-boxing.com +"Your Topic Here" is a good tool.

If there isn't a topic answering your issue, make a new thread and someone will help if they can.

CTM is normally off. ISB only turns on CTM briefly to IWT and then it turns it off. I've noticed that it doesn't always turn it off though.

Even so, I don't have mouse broadcasting on. So accidently doing a CTM on the main should not cause the slaves to take off.

There is more than one set up for IWT/CTM.
My version of IWT/CTM predates the wizard generating that mapped key.

The default mapped key, made by the wizard, is a two-step process.
The steps advance on both key press and key release.
On Press, it enables CTM and on release it disables CTM.
Not sure when the IWT command comes in (step 1 or step 2), but it occurs while CTM is enabled.

My personal set up has CTM always enabled.
This is because I have IWT set to be sent to my Melee toons, as part of my Spammed Keys rotation.
It is periodically sent as a Do Mapped Key action, on one of the steps of the DPS Spam keys.
Unfortunately, I don't have enable CTM on press and disable on release, because the IWT action is sent on a single step (part of the DPS Spam Key).
For the "automatic" (automatic in the sense that it occurs as part of your DPS, not automatic in that you get it without pressing keys on your keyboard causing the IWT) set up to work, you need CTM enabled already.

Use whatever approach seems the easiest for you.
There is no right or wrong method.
Just whatever works best for you personally.

If you ask someone in general (here or on the isboxer.com forums)... How do I do this?... You'll get a response; Lax is extremely helpful and fairly fast on the IS Boxer forums... You can also use the IS Boxer Chat Room, on the www.isboxer.com site.
