Default Need Help Using IWT in WoW for Melee

    1. I don't understand why you need IWT for melee. Is it for facing?

I currently have ISBoxer set up so it sets Jamba Master/Follow up switching characters. I assume I have to disable that.

    2. Is this the right sequence to use IWT?
-use Jamba strobe to get close to target but out of aggro range
    -turn off Jamba strobe
    -press the ISB IWT hotkey
    -click on the target
    -attack the target
-if target moves, repeat the previous 3 steps

You're making things far too complicated. MiRai just made a video for using IWT and I just did complimenting writeup on it in the Newb's boxing guide, starting at the bottom of post 4.

Jamba strobe is not something I'd suggest using. It's great for certain things, but standard combat is not one of them. All you need is a key for IWT, either tied into your spam key or as an individual key.

I can see how using regular follow instead of strobe would be good since I don't have to turn it off to attack. When I started boxing I had a lot of problems with broken follow and that is why I started using Jamba strobe.

I actually watched MiRai's video before starting this thread. He talks about how spamming IWT with CTM can cause the toon to go off. That gave me the impression that I had to CTM. But I guess what he meant is that ISB is doing the IWT and CTM.

I use Jamba follow strobing only when traveling or on certain fights, where having the slaves on constant follow is preferable. I use it with General Husam and High Prophet Barim in Heroic Lost City so I can kite them around by walking my tank around backwards. But in normal fights, follow strobing can severely impact your DPS because your slaves will keep turning to face you in stead of the mob.

Building IWT into your spam key is personal preference. I don't like it because spamming often causes runaways. It's easy enough to use it manually only when I need it.

Click to Move is needed to allow your slaves to move in range of the target. If you use a melee team, you will need to use it.

    That is a good idea.

I set up IWT for 3 toons. For the last action in the first step, I accidently used 'Window: All w/o Current'. Once I figured that out I deleted the action and changed it to 'Window: All w/ Current'. But now none of the toons move when I use the IWT hotkey.

I'm no help with ISBoxer, so I don't know if there's other settings in there, but do you have click to move enabled still? I know I saw something about consoleinteract {?} somewhere that might be part of the ISBoxer config for IWT. Consoleinteract toggles click to move on and off instead of having to use the ingame menu options.

When I recreated the action I choose the wrong hotkey. I got it sorted out.

When fighting it is difficult for me to tell if the slaves are facing properly. I guess that is why people spam the IWT key.

Spamming IWT is best in PVP with moving targets. I usually try to avoid spamming in PVE. One or two presses when you aren't sure they are facing the right way should get them in the right direction.

Is a spam key a macro? I've been thinking I need to start getting into macros.

Yes, a spam key is a single key that you have using cast sequences so you don't have to keep track of a dozen different keys every fight. Most people use a multi-step system.
