View Full Version : [WoW] Shoot wand/weapon autoshoot problems with boxing?

I think this needs its own topic. I'm running priests, both currently 33 and only the main character that I run things from can wand, the second computer wands one to three times at best and then doesn't bother with it until I press the button again.

With the same target on both characters and a simple Shoot being activated on the second computer, it does not work. With any possible macro I tried out (like /cast [target=focustarget, harm, exists] Shoot) it still would not work.

Same went for the hunter duo I tried out for a few levels as well. Autoshoot only came once, twice from the second computer.

I'm going to keep experimenting with this. Can't see anything that's possibly wrong with it. Maybe if I found a way to tell the second computer to target the focustarget? Here's hoping I can figure it out so that my two tauren hunters Crockett and Tubbs can start patrolling.

REMOVED AssistByName("playername") - Assists the player whose name is entered.
PROTECTED AssistUnit("unit") - Instructs your character to assist the specified unit.

(edit) A lazy solution is found, but it's a lazy solution that isn't very nice and breaks if the main is dead. /assist CHARNAME; /cast Shoot. AssistByName, AssistUnit cannot be used, unless entered manually it seems. Great.

You did remember to start the line with /run or /script?

If that's not it, try.. think the name is Super Macro - it can add a bunch of LUA to macros.

/script, naturally. That method calls a "blahblah protected by blizzard UI" dialog window. Hunter dualboxing works with this method, they both stand and shoot, it's just that it's not perfect.

Will investigate SuperMacro, thank you!

The straight /assist solution works with hunters, so I'd say they are now a duo/multi-boxable class, currently leveling Crockett and Tubbs and having great fun at insane speeds!

(edit)
It works, but it is not perfect, it botches pulls, it causes add in the middle of fights no matter what I seem to do. Same goes for Wanding.

Something with the *Shoot function is messed up, spells and abilities work, it's just *Shoot.

Still, a hunter duo/triple works with this. Worth giving a shot. I recommend an orc or a troll if you do, because Durotar doesn't have as much travel as any other hunter-starter zone.

My hunters and priests don't have that problem. And my assist macros are dirt simple.

# Priest Wand
/assist dondiego
/stopmacro [noharm]
/stopcasting
/cast [harm] shoot

# Hunter Attack
/assist Trebuchet
/startattack
/castsequence reset=5 Arcane Shot, Serpent Sting
/petattack

I have a twobox hunter who has no issue at all but I don't use autoshot for leading. My macro calls Concussive Shot and works fine. Granted that's only when he stays at range, but still it works fine.

Are you making sure to uncheck the option for switching between autoshoot/autoattack on the 2nd client?

That might be part of your issue, at least for wanding.
