So I never read the full patch notes but now that we are a couple of weeks into the current 4.01 patch I thought it might be fun to list some of what I found cool in this patch (although some may have been done prior to the patch, not been playing a lot so might have missed it).
1. Dual spec, now only 100g, this is really nice, 1000g was a lot to spend on this originally.
2. I could be totally wrong here, but Shaman totems are now trainable it seems? No quests?
3. Warlock pets, trainable, no quests?
4. Pally no longer has quest chains for some spells.
5. No more soul shards, I hated running out of shards, Fel Guard dies and no shard to re-summon, yuck. Also free team summons without the need for shards.
6. Hunters no longer needing ammo.
So those are some of my fav changes while playing over the last couple of weeks.
What else have people noticed? (apart from the demise of commas in macros lol)

Ya they ditched the class only quests, and everything else you posted was in the full patch notes some where. The no quests for totems and lock pets = so awesome for us.

I'm really liking the no-ammo thing on hunter ranged weapons.
And having all weapon skills default to max.

Lovin the removal of class quests! They were annoying as hell to deal with on a boosted/RAF gifted toon....
"Convert to raid" now on portrait menu, as well as "Convert (back) to Party".

Visually, the game seems to look so much better, I love the water effects and how viscous it feels when you run/swim in it.
I love the sun shaft graphic effects- looks amazing when the sun is dropping behind mountains
Guild charters only require 5 signitures now :)
Boomkins- I love the new solar/luner system so much more then the old proc based system.

Anyone notice, mining and herbing now give party wide xp? 2800 xp/mining node and I just got 4700xp for an herb node.

Yes. The whole party gets exp if one member mines or herbs. Freaking awesome. Exp gained is dependent on skill level vs the node. I was getting exp for grey nodes also. While not very much exp it was still exp.
Guild charters only requiring 5 sigs makes it easier to create bank alt guilds on those low pop realms (ahem, Cho'gall) ....err ghost towns.

That is a nice addition.

Only if you play Alliance. :)

xp is related to skill level vs node level? not toon level vs node level?
Am i right in saying that my level 72 toon will get max xp while levelling his mining (which is currently at ~160 skill)? and so will my level ~60 in tow?
sounds too good to be true :-)

I expect you to test this right now and get back to us ASAP.

At lvl 77 my Rogue miner gets a little over 5k experience for mining Saronite, so still very cool :)

I'm loving the weapon skills change too, also neat that Master of Arms and Did Somebody Order a Knuckle Sandwich? achievements were changed to Feat of Strength.

I love the buff simplifications - much easier to manage :)

I also think the graphics upgrades were nice and we don't even have any of the new textures yet.
The gameplay isn't too bad once you get use to it and your macros sorted. Running 4 druids the eclipse mechanism is definitely better for boxers.
Lots of adjusting.

Well crap. I should have looked a little closer. My group was all the same level and when I mined outland on my L73 rich adamantite and khorium was giving 2500 exp. So there must be more to the equation than skill. Sorry about the misinformation.

Profession trainers in Capital cities let you train all the way up to lvl 450 now, just found this out when I was leveling Tailoring yesterday.
"return to graveyard" button when dead.
