I'm hardcore burned out. Got my pallys pvp geared and did some arena and now i'm just like "the fuck" and feel there isn't much to do. Most of my friends quit, so it's no fun going on wow and not talking to anyone or anything. I'm considering stopping boxing for a while and playing a single toon and just using all my boxes to do professions in cata or something. I'm not quite sure what i want but i know it's getting to the point where i need to stop or take a break for a month or so.
I quit games a lot and come back quickly, but i'm not sure that is the case here. I find PVP fun, i dunno why but i feel obligated to play all my toons now, which isn't a good thing >_> Whatever.
Excuse this rant >_>

It's OK. Remember every other game you've played that you didn't play forever. There is no shame.
I'm finishing GTA 4 before Fallout: New Vegas takes over my gaming time, and painting Warhammer miniatures for my Elite Nerd badge. And wishing I hadn't paid for 6 months of WoW in advance, but whatever, it's there if I want it.

Well I think pretty much all of us spend more time on WOW than would be deemed healthy. I take breaks too and the game is always 100 times more fun when I return. Something that always seems to hang over my head is that I have to play since I pay for my time. Like I'm wasting money or something, lol.
Always remember the game and your characters will be there and aren't going anywhere.

Considering how much you have done in a relative short amount of time, I dont think anyone here is surprised. Its tough when people first start out boxing, they want it all. Either for pvp or mix matching for pve everyone ends up wanting 5 of all classes. I almost did the same but I got burn out around my 4th team through, I am just happy one of those teams was a mixed team which gave me alot of the choices I enjoy now. After wanting to gear up all my characters I realized it was just too much of a time commitment/grind.
After spending alot of time practicing I have become pretty good at 2v2 and 3v3 and my guild sometimes lets me bring in my 3 dps (2 ELE/ 1Disc, shadow for raids or my lock) and its been alot of fun. Once I was able to figure out what I liked and what I enjoyed playing then it became more fun and less like a job. It also became easier to become a better boxer when I only devoted my time to these setups. Setting macros up and spending the time to make sure they are efficient takes a while and after you have done it so many times before, if they dont work first time it gets frustrating very quickly.
In my opinion, take a break and think about what is your favorite part about boxing and then your favorite classes and just concentrate on those.

I'm currently on a 3 month break from Wow (and also stopped multiboxing for good probably), recently finished Bioshock 1 & 2, GTA4, Mass Effect 1 & 2, Assassins Creed 2, Prototype, and Dragons Age - all AMAZING games, esp Dragons Age. Take a break, enjoy all the single player games you have missed out on, and come back with a single char for cata.
Really not much reason to multibox anymore in wow, given how easy it is to do everything in pugs.

That seems to be only valid if you box because you don't want the trouble of pugs. That's only a minor aspect for me. I also box for the challenge, for being able to play at my own pace and just because i like it to play 'different'.

I think everyone is currently bored with WoW, there really is no challenge unless you are raiding and even then it is all a little stale. For myself I am currently leveling a horde team and then I will level some of the last two classes I have not boxed.
Otherwise my 13 80s are sitting unplayed, I do not even do the dailies with them.
Playing the new horde team is fun though, so that is keeping me entertained :D

I have been boxing since BC off and on though. So it wasn't exactly my first time, i guess it was my second time taking it truly serious.

Take a break. It's summer time and you should be at the beach chasing whatever fancies you.

meh my bad, I was assuming.
Another cool thing that has cured burnout is not coming to this site everyday. I dont post very often any more and dont visit the site everyday like I used to and I think it has helped. I used to want to do some of the stuff I have seen boxers do, but now I just do my own thing. Its still fun reading about it sometimes but I dont get all excited like I used to wanting to replicate their achievements.

I take breaks from WOW pretty often. Right now I'd say that I'm on a cycle where I start playing again and play pretty frequently, then it tapers off and after a while I stop playing. Then I cancel for a few months and start over again. Games like this encourage regular (daily) play and since it's often repetitive, it's easy to burn out on it.
So yeah, take a break and the game will still be there if/when you are ready to return.

Try something else out.
After I stopped playing WoW, I went on continue my education in Social Sciences with Neuro Linguistic Programming, and it was a great change of pace.
Do something you've never done before. Tell that disinterested voice preventing you from trying new things to shut the fuck up.
Have fun, at least WoW's not consuming all your time anymore!

Personally, I enjoy playing wow, and even enjoy more when i do boxing. I always change my play styles: power leveling, questing, Battle Ground farming, new pet collecting, instancing & gear farming, raid pugging, ally ganking (cough~~).... that is how I've got my 40 level 80, and I am still moving forward to get another 5 lv80 soon. Do whatever you like the most, don't make it as a "job" to you and you have to repeat it daily (yes, that is why I hate Dailies so bad :) )
If you find any other better things to do than wowing/boxing, go for it. Just like others said, do whatever you enjoy the most. But one thing for sure, you can't easily find so many helpful people/boxers from other places. Just my two coppers. :)

Not surprised. You strike me as the type of person that needs a goal to reach and you push everything else aside to reach that goal, once you're there and the high wears off your not sure what to do next.
At least thats how it comes across by the way you post and how much you've achieved in only a few months.
If you take even a small break for a couple weeks you will feel refreshed. WoW can be very much like a job. Its something you do on a very regular basis. You simple just need a holiday from the same kind of fun and you need to find something else to do.

I tried single boxing, but one bad day in PuGs ruined that. All it takes is that one tank/healer that feels like they are god and you are their loyal subject. So damn annoying to have a tank with less health than your dps tell you the right way to play your class. Noone wants to disagree for fear of pissing the tank off and getting vote kicked. I have one character I run daily in pugs and it's fucking painfull.

I also get the burnout feeling from time to time and what I do is I just stop playing for a few days. Or I go do some PVE since I mostly PVP. This week was so bored of PVP-ing that I went through the effort to make a 10 main raid to do the weekly quest. It worked out nicely. I think I'm going to start raiding but I will have to make a set of PVE gear because I haven't known anything but PVP until now.
In my opinion, us boxers feel powerful for a while when we take down everything so easily with 5+ chars, but what happens over time is you start isolating yourself too much since you no longer need to rely on other people to achieve goals. But eventually that makes us feel too lonely and burned out because after all humans are social beings no matter how antisocial a person is.
So I'm thinking to either start a guild or join a PVE guild and start rading with one toon, but only like once a week or something. I want to get back into the social aspect of the game, which you can't get in PVP-only guilds.
Or I'm going to park a paladin and bring another player with me in daily heroics or something. Anything that gets me to connect with other people.
