View Full Version : Viability of multiclass groups in BGs.

So I had originally planned to run 2-3 groups, but I think I'm starting to realize that I don't have the time to seriously devote to leveling/gearing/playing ~15 chars.

I still am interested in the single-player version of arenas and the like, but the problem with me and this game is that I seem to perpetually end up with the wrong classes at any given time of the nerfcycle.

Because of the aforementioned realization of a timeconstraint, my evil plans of every class / multiples of each isn't going to work I'm trying to come up with something reasonably functional within my constraints.

I am looking to get the 4 healing classes (no lemons! - well actually, currently they might all be lemons by I digress) and a few spattered dps classes (mostly for interest).

My accounts are currently in my sig, but I was thinking of running something like:

Druid
Priest
Mage
Warlock
Shaman

and then playing a paladin and some meele class together.

My concerns are primarily that I be able to do heroics to a reasonable extent, and that I can somehow manage to suck up the honor grind.

While clearly a group of that nature is going to be inferior to a shaman/mage/hunter/lock boxing team, has anybody found it playable?

Druid / Priest / Mage / Warlock / Shaman

The Druid is your tank. Either the Priest or Shaman is your healer. Mage, Warlock and whichever is not healer is a caster dps.
So your dps is either Shadow/Warlock/Mage or Elemental/Warlock/Mage, either of which is workable.
For in-combat crowd control we have Banish (Elemental/Demon), Shackle (Undead), Sheep (Beast/Humanoid), Hex (Beast/Humanoid).

For CC's to work best, you'd want to have a non-Focus based leadership system, so Focus can be reserved for CC's.

I'd spec the Warlock demonology, because it requires the least amount of micro-management.
Mage and Elemental or Shadow can easily use a big-button macro, for most of your spells.

You have fairly decent AoE, especially if you broadcast your mouse clicks.
Even if you don't, Warlock-Seeds, Priest-Holy Nova's and Mage is your active window for Blizzard.

I'd say the composition works for PvE content quite well.

PvP might be a bit harder, with five different classes.

I know it can work in PVE, but it's the PVP part I'm unsure of hence the placement ;p
