I have not looked at these guides in awhile but last I looked You needed to remove the Hoard or alliance guides in the standard Tour guide then install (replace) these guides in there place.

Now last I checked These have a pritty selective path option. and require Having the BC upgrade.

Honestly I think The comunity should work at doing a Project and doing a Rewrite of all the zones for RAF, and Multi-boxing Leveling guide. Though Viability of said project will depend on a Projected Cataclysmic Release date.

I am slowly doing this and would love to make a "vanilla" RAF Tour Guide. There are complete areas not done at all, like Silverpine Forest. This causes undead to level in The Barrens or Ghostlands. I don't like either option. So far I have gotten the starting zones done. Still need to trim them, if the guide is for 1-12 and I am level 13 halfway through...you see the need.

hello all :) i've been looking and reading a long timem here on the forums and this is excually my first post :p

ok, so here's my point,
did someone already tried to talk to blizzard, for the raf cap...
maybe if a some of us try to raise the cap of recruit a friend (till 70 if the new expansion comes)
it would make life easy'r for us i think :)

I have reworked the framework of the RAF Guides Allcattle has been hosting and placed alliance in one file and Horde in another.

Now in the new framework you just download the rar file place TourGuide_RAF_Alliance or TourGuide_RAF_Horde folder in the wow AddOns directory and activate it in wow [it comes deactivated by defualt] and it will now allow selection of the RAF guides toward the bottom of TourGuide guide selection. there is no longer any need to overwrite default Guides.

Now that the new Framework is in-place I will be working on Multi-box guides from 60-70 and 70-80 for both Alliance and Horde I also plan to revisit the RAF Guides and rework some of the guides and Zones to give a bit more flexibility.

I also plan to eventually do 1-60 Multi-box guides without RAF for completeness [Though the later probably will not be added till after Cataclysm] but will depend on how fast the other projects are completed.

I have stated I believe this should be a community project so I will be accepting input, suggestions for improvement as well as help and files.

I can't seem to get the RAF guides to show up on the list in-game. I followed the Readme files that came with the download. Should the RAF files be inside the main TourGuide folder?

each faction goes in a folder inside the main. You can unzip the regular Tour guide then open the folder to see the correct place.

Oh, ok, thanks alot. The only thing I'm having trouble with now, is the fact that my second account doesn't have TBC is there another guide floating around that only goes into vanilla WoW zones?

That was the reason I started the Upgrade thread. When the Forum software changed, some of the fonts got messed up. If the poster did not update their posts it looks like the first post in the Sticky. I try to bump the update thread often but it slide a page or two at times. Thanks for the support, as you are a very good leveler.

was just using your Guide, its really great.

But at lvl 18 i have the problem that there is noch guide until lvl 23 to select, but the files are there in the Tourguide folder.

Do you have any idea how to change that?

you should find an alternative to horde arathi highlands. there's just way too much traveling time lost going back and forth from hammerfall to strom.

TourGuide is no longer a free mod - Tektub licensed it to a pay for guide service. If you have Tour Guide it'll still work but you cannot get it if you never downloaded it.

I was hoping I had it backed up somewhere, as I just set up for dual-boxing last week and wanted to give the guides a try. Unfortunately, I don't have it anywhere. I saw a post on the official forums stating that you could still find it bundled with Jame's guides, but the mod that he uses (wow-pro) doesn't work with these files.

I am unsure of the EULA on addons, I remember that Blizz would control some and pay the author but you could not charge ( or ask for donations) in the addon itself.
If someone has a clearer understanding, I could post my "backup" file.

Its murky. According to the TOS, you can repost TourGuide. No one is allowed to charge for add ons and when Tek (of whom I am a hige fan) made his add on only available through a paid guide, he effectively made it a paid add on - against the TOS. His friends a Vryanx Guides claim to have come up with some bizarre loophole that allows them to do this within the TOS - who knows.

But from a legal perspective it is Tek's creation. I do not think you can legally redistribute it without Tek's permission. Not sure though.

Me? It's Tek's. If he says I can't use it then I am not going to. Sucks but it is his call :)

If you have previously downloaded tour guide, and needed to transfer it to your work computer, and didnt have a working email, then maybe the only way for you to do that is to upload it on a public file host and post the link here (for your own reference only). You know what Im sayin?

Edit: Ok so I got it working but had a major issue with guides not showing up in game, namely most of the "vanilla" specific ones. I managed to solve Elwynn Forest (the .lua didnt have "end)" in the end, if added the guide will show), but Redridge Mountains 18-20 I still cant get. It has end), and it was missing from guides.xml but I added it there altho it wont work (have tried restart). Anyone who has more experience with the addon could take a look at it? I use files from the latest release from alcattle's homepage.

I used your google search and clicked literally EVERY link on page 2 and got nothing. If someone could upload the addon to rapid share or something that would be awesome. Also if it was released under GPL (which i read somewhere it was) then you are free to change and redistribute the program as you wish.

To use arrows takes the addon TomTom if I understand what you want.

Most if not a lot are making me collecting stuff (did Draenei guide which made me collect blossoms, vials of moth blood, meat from the stags, ...) so I simply switched to QH and my own knowledge of kill quests and good item rewarding quests.

Most of the starting areas were revised. I cannot say that the Draenei areas are done. I will check them when I get home.

Is there really noone who can help me with that? I installed all the mentioned programs and Zygors Guide actually runs perfectly fine. But there is no TourGuide_Horde Folder! There is a folder named ZygorGuidesViewer\Guides where the lua files are in.

So I deleted everything in this folder and installed the horde RAF files in it that I downloaded from the link on the first page. But the Zygor add on doesn't recognize the files, I can't load them!

What can I do?

Just tried dropping the guides into Wow-Pro and they don't work.

Does anyone have any suggestions for leveling guides for 3.3?


I've tried downloading and installing Tourguide, but it's out of date and won't show up in the addons list.

I am leveling right now and pretty much I only use the Looking For Dungeon and I do that over and over again and it gives me a lot of experience I can do several levels every day. I believe I can get to level 80 in maybe 3 days total from level 1.

So just use Looking For Dungeon to level up your multiboxing team?

60-70 is already a lot slower then 1-60 since you haven't got triple xp and the xp requirements are not as reduced as for the classic content and 70-80 is slow and i seriously doubt you'd make to 80 in time.

It is possible to level 1-80 in 3 days (24 hours) but usually not your first group. You need money so you do not have loot, training and mounts. The 3 exp from RAF and the 30% added xp (or is it 29%) from Heirlooms are almost a must. Also boosting is the fastest way which takes an 80 toon.

TourGuide has been back for a few months now. The link on his site directs you right to the WoWInterface download link which is fairly up-to-date. If everyone remembers that the WoWInterface download link to TourGuide was actually not present for awhile during the whole Zygor situation, but it has since returned.

I have not tested those as much as ally files, but since little has changed they should be your best guide for RAF leveling. Use other guides and skip any quest you feel like as you only need 1/3 of them.
