Thread: BC lvling

    Default BC lvling

Now that WOTLK is out and everyone has so much experience with BC, I was hoping for some advice on what I should do now that I'm 60 on bonechewer.

I've just experiencing BC for the first time (no WOTLK yet) and all 5 toons (pally, priest, 3xmages) have just dinged 60. I don't know whether I should set to work on the dungeons for gear, or forget it and focus on getting to 70 or 80. Not really doing pvp with this team. Is there any benefit to going through BC slowly and gearing up my guys? Should I straight quest to 70 or 80 and worry about gearing later? If questing is the way to go, is there any guides that I should be using? (I'm sure this has been talked about here, but I can't find it for the life of me - on multiple varied searches).

    Thanks for any advice.

If you've never seen the content. Do all the quests and instances you can / care to do. BC is full of great content.

If you don't care about the content, i'd do all the easy quests and run instances to fill leveling gaps / for gear.

Thanks for the reply - although I think BC is cool so far, i've only seen hellfire peninsula. I'm not big on experiencing all the lore or seeing every last area - I'm sure I'll get to them eventually. I guess I'm more concerned with lvling up my characters so I can run the high lvl instances and/or make money for my other toons.

From HFP, go to zangarmarsh then to Nagrand. if you're not 68 by the end of nagrand, either go to shadowmoon valley or netherstorm. do not go to blades edge. it has a terrible terrain. also avoid terokkar forest, especially those quests to kill arakkoas and find some eye/gem or something. annoying if you box it. but do quests from the stranded caravan and the base southwest bonewastes if you do decide to go to terokkar.

in zangar, not only do you have your own faction's quests, you also have the cenarion expedition's quests to do.
in nagrand, there's nessingwary and then your own faction's quests. plus some rock elemental's quests.

in netherstorm you can quest out of area 52 or out of the stormspire.
in smv, you can quest out of your faction's city there or from the aldor/scryer town.

Actually theres tons of awesome quests in terrokar that are super easy for boxers - tons.

If you dont care much about lore or content then yea just do all quests that are easy (skip quests that have you collect more than 3 of an item per character). You'll hit 70 before you run out of zones and you'll never have to set foot in an instance. The gear is unimportant because it will all be replaced in northrend in the first couple levels anyway.

Since WOTLK came out, 60-70 goes much faster now, too.

Thoes are solo guides and will have you doing every single quest. And its not multi box friendly. Go to Hellfire and get the quest to pick up 30 zeplin parts for the goblin. when you grow old finding 150 parts for a 5 man team you will never do another gather quest again. The leveling guides are good for boosting a toon though Thats how I got my paladin from 1 to 64 in a weekend of play.

On one of my first teams of 5 I did ALL of the quests in Shimmering Flats. After I think 6-7 hours and like 50 trips around that place I have never been back :/

James guides are good, just skip the collection quests. You could easily do with just Questhelper though and maybe read some guides and note some escort and "dropped item" starter quests.

With the XP changes in BC, I only had to do the quests in Hellfire and Nagrand to hit 70, both of which have decent gear upgrades. I also ran instances, which you should do as a multiboxer to learn how it's done [and for the XP/gear]. There is a world of difference between PVE questing and doing instances. I was planning on doing SMV and Netherstorm but just ended up buying WoTLK and going to Howling Fjord.
