Maybe some of this has been covered elsewhere, if it has I'm sorry. First, I think it is worth repeating that you can have MOST of your questions answered by using "Search," or the "Wiki." There are some excellent resources in this forum or linked in this forum.
Because I'm on a PvP server, I tend to instance grind more than I quest. Why? Answer: Getting ganked slows you down. I would love to quest in Hillsbrad, STV, etc., but I tend to attract attention, both positive and negative. There alway seems to be an Alliance (since I'm Horde) player willing to gank me in these zones. If you are a person that can stay up late, questing may work out for you. For now, I have to quest late night on my days off.
If you are like me, and leveling without a tank, gearing is important. Not so much in what you wear, but balance in gear between toons. I noticed this when two of my toons were consistantly pulling all of the aggro. If one toon has a greater sp dmg or better healing than another, that toon will tend to gain more aggro, and die more often if you are not careful. This means that the toon with "better" dmg/healing gear will fall behind in experience. Small experience differences aren't that big of a deal, but falling 15% behind has been sort of a pain. I manipulated my toons gear, and so far that has seemed to work.
You don't have to get caught up in writing too many macros right away. I use the basics i.e. invite, assist/follow, and a heal macro. So far, keybinds and round robin (keyclone) have served me well. I just dinged 34 on my shammies. I can certainly see the upcoming use for some totem macros, but up to this point, I haven't had a need for them.
I have had many "ahhh, I see why now" moments. I'm sure there are many more to come. I didn't understand most of what I was reading when I first started. I just knew I wanted to do it. So if all, or some of the information in this forum/wiki looks like Latin, don't lose heart. Actual boxing in game will clear things up for you. Having someone spell it out for you is not always a great way to learn.
These are just a few observations that I've had so far. I might be wrong. I use Keyclone, Kavoom, and Twoboxtoolkit, so my experience may differ from those who aren't set up like me.
Hope this helps someone.
