Good point, hadn´t really done the maths just looked at from a scale up from the 5G epic mount in TBC.

I get the impression they´re looking at smaller time-sinks but lots more of them ie barbershop, maybe 10k for this duel-talent spec, silly fun items (a la Griftah but actually worth having for fun), titles, mounts, superficial custom inscriptions from vendors, not to mention the 7.5k weapons/armor mentioned etc etc.

I hope this is the way they´re going anyway.

The only trouble I see with 7500g vendor epics is that it will inevitably encourage some people to buy gold. Then again, those people are probably already buying gold anyway, so who knows if it will really make a difference.

I think my gals are still dead where you left them. I have gotten alot of resistance from my guild into allowing me to even try raiding. I have done kara once with my guys. Maybe it is time for a change of guilds.

What kind of stuff are you raiding with your guys?

Raiding was one of my goals on these guys. even though they are aq pvp team, i was sure I could do good things.

I have raided almost everything now, I have done:

Kara (1.5 hour runs with me now)
ZA (all except the last boss)
SSC (OK, Hydross sucks, Lurker is SUPER easy, Vashj is a blast, the rest are balls lol)
Hyjal (all except Archimonde, not sure id want to try him while boxing LOL)
AQ40 (easily)
ZG (solo)
Naxx (Easily enough)

I'm fairly sure I could do Illidan and the rest of BT on my guys too, if given the space to spread out and the chance to try it. Only boss im really scared of is Gorefiend.. if any of my guys get the doom then I'm completely fkd LOL. Mother wouldn't be too hot either.. if more than one of my guys got linked it would be a pain.

Completely agree. I would question that they are really going in this direction. The reason for the grind requirements and BoP is to discourage both gold selling and too much "twinking". I can't imagine they'll create a third route to epics in addition to raiding/PvP.

They shouldn't do this because more people will buy gold. What they should do is have like non heroic badge gear, like blues that only come off of the last boss not the mini bosses in the instance. That will help people get into heroics. If they do it this way yes they can still buy badges but the gold sellers would need to get into your account to do it and it is easier for blizzard to trace this. Unless the gold sellers have accounts on every realm to just run you. Then it will be hard for blizzard to figure out if you are buying the run with real money. Just because the ip is from china doesn't mean it is a gold seller.

You also need to look at the fact that #1, she is faction related to, I think the city faction, so you can get them down to 6400G each. #2, it is vendor loot, other then the teleport, how good will those be stat wise? And #3 will you even need/want a teleport to Dalaran will it be worth 8kG, even after WoTLK inflation?

I believe, based on other screen shots, that the rings start at 8k gold and the 7500ish price is already including some faction discounts. Possibly just honored or so but there was a thread on another forum with the rings at 8k and then 7.5k with some discounts.

No, sorry. It was part of the WWI Q&A session where somebody asked about the dual-spec thing again and they said it was something they were looking at how they could implement and considering it.

If you can find a transcript of those sessions, it´ll be in there.

The never ending problem of what to do with gold. I love having gold sinks like this, as in BC once you have your epic flyer there's absolutely no need for gold anymore. On one hand I think there should _always_ be something to sink your gold into so gold always has a use. On the other hand it will encourage people to buy gold unless Blizzard is able to crack down harder on gold sellers and buyers.

Right now I'm sitting at 19k gold, with an epic mount and 4 pilton bags on both of my 70's. Just need a little more and I'll be able to buy my 4 guys coming up their epic flyers the day they hit 70.

We talked about this recently at the Worldwide Invitational actually. We are looking into allowing players to basically have two talent specs that they can switch between but we are still working out the exact details so we will have to wait and see exactly how it will function in-game.
