Well I've only played on a serious team once, the rest are with friends and there is no drive, it's just to have fun.
On the one serious team that so many refer try to bash I played on .. I'll give a storyboard to it :P

A guildie of mine (Maintain) who also had a high rated 5v5 team had just lost their Shaman. They put a post up on various forums looking for a new one and someone noted they were interested but they would not be able to transfer until the following week. After various trash talking and going back and forth I agree to help them out for the week, they only needed 7 games to get their points for the week and explained I would not be staying.
The team rating was 2300, and we were matched up against another top 5 team that was also rated 2300.
We ended up 3 wins and 4 losses, the wins were only after I told them to change their strategy as it wasn't working. After the games were done I left the team and ended up playing both teams the following week stomping them properly.

so my only experience playing on a serious team is at 2300 rating and we still pulled almost a 50/50 split against a team that was ranked higher than theirs. As for getting kicked off the team blah blah, everyone knew I wasn't staying - just helping them out. I suppose any way you look at it though they can spin the story, probably shouldn't of helped them in the first place

Haha... they locked the thread. The whole time reading I thought to myself... "they honestly think its 5v1." they think a keybroadcaster has given each of your characters superpowers. Oh well, can't teach the unteachable.

You hit the nail on the head. My team was 1 and 3 against a 2345 setup using a Shaman as a healer, we talked about strats and what we could do differently. Looked at all the angles of how their team adapted to me and found a huge weakness.
We queued up more and went 3 wins - 6 losses against them. Instead of stopping we pushed forward and worked out the problem, ending up with 6 wins / 6 losses, with the last 3 matches being wins and they stopped. We figured them out and they finally did not have an answer.
Just remember, when you went 3-6 you were a no-talent scrub. When you went 3-0 you were a no-talent CHEATING scrub.

PS- Someone mentioned the Elitist Jerks forum and how strict their moderation is. I like it because they actively work to maintain a very specific forum atmosphere. Yes, they will ding you for something as minor as adding a signature within your post. But they also keep out a lot of the General WoW Forum retards and they foster an environment where people are encouraged to make well-written and well-thought-out comments.

I agree there. I've learned a lot when starting raiding and how to manage a raid, since i'm an officer in my current guild, by reading there. Imo it's pathetic someone can get banned for a signature, but it's the only wowforum that has very few retardposts. So aslong as those strict rules work, it's worth ajusting to.

people don't understand that multi boxing is it's own vibe and your keys are bound differently, you act/react differently, and have your mind working through different strategies. my point is that anyone who says you have to "prove" yourself by getting a single shaman to a high rated team is a moron because that's a completely different game.

i don't bother dueling anyone while i'm leveling for this very reason. my keybinds are set to something that is intuitive for my MB rotation, my characters are undergeared if not naked or in RP gear, etc. etc. For example as I level my pally and priest to catch up to my three warlocks i have the priest in the new haliscan outfit and a nobles monocle, with the nail-in-board mace from the human starting area. her keys are bound to flow with the paladin's moves...so basically what i'm getting at is she isn't set up to 1v1 and as i play them more they will become even more intertwined.

well ellay i'm sure you're beyond caring about these guys with their "get an elemental shaman to 2200's in 2's" but it's just funny that they don't "get" how stupid those comments are.
