    Default Good classes to boost with

    I'm so bored of all the low level quests, so I'm figuring I will put my 3 man team in a group with a 70 and just run em threw instances over and over again until I hit idk what level.. Depends how bored I get. Anyways, what classes would be easy to run 3 chars threw all the low level instances? I have a 70 hunter, Idk If I could get away with him all the way up to SM though, hes only in blues/greens. Any opinions and classes would be good.

    If a 70 hunter is all you got, then I guess he'll have to do. Do you have other class options for a booster?

    Generically, I'd say 1) Paladin, 2) Mage, 3) Warlock. In my opinion, the lock may even push the Mage with its pet. (i.e., the warlock can AE boost in instances pretty effectively through SM Cath but shines also with following your boostees while they do quests and using the pet to burn down tagged mobs.)
    80 Blood Elf Paladin, 80 Blood Elf Priest,80 Troll Mage, 80 Undead Warlock, 80 Tauren Druid, 80 Undead Rogue
    80 x4 Shaman (Orc x3, Troll)

    My opinion is that mages are unmatched for anything below SM. Mages dominate low level instances for speed, then paladin start to take over. Hunters are ok, they can handle anything but they don't do it very fast. Slowly but surely goes the hunter. Warlocks are almost on par with hunters for being able to solo most all instances thoroughly, but they also have seed of corruption for lower level instances.

    I have 6 classes at 70 (no shaman, druid, warrior)that I soloed there before boxing. I've tried boosting with them all and those are my opinions.

    the beauty about hunters is they arent really Gear dependant for PVE power leveling. Sure better gear helps... but its not going to make or break a power lvler.

    I think most people would agree that a paladin is #1. Consecration + Heals + Bubble + Res + Ret Aura

    I would have to say that #2, for low levels would be a holy/disc priest with a mage/warlock being #3. Priests have an AOE that heals and damages. They can heal, res and bubble. They can spec into a bubble that deals damage. Fears work great to pull more mobs. If you're running with a mage/lock, you can't res (ss being the only exception) the lowbies, but SoC and AOEs are pretty effective as long as you don't get overtaken by mobs. I used a 70 holy priest to run a twink rogue thru the deadmines. Took about 7-10 minutes per run.

    I boost with this hunter:

    http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...maul&n=Lillith

    So she has a few epics, but im able to solo everything through BRD and have to be careful in my pulls for Scholo (60 instances), but I can complete them. The Season 2 gear is not to difficult to collect, and if you spread it out, so you only go for a piece at a time, then go back to the alts, its nice. Your power level team has a chance to collect rested status, and you can collect more gear for power lvler. I am getting the season 2 helm in a couple days, and the season 3 pants in 2 weeks.. I AFK my way through arena. lazy friends...

    My current run time with this char is, (I use the battle elixers, Warp Burgers, and the like to boost my damage and crit. )

    I like to track my time, lets me try to beat my best time..

    WC = 24 min

    RFK = 21 min

    SM Monastary/Armoury = 25 min - 30 depending on pulls. (I know that Pallys beat this time)

    ZF = 42 min

    BRD= 45 min (this is not a full clear, just the boss that dis-enchant to large prismatic shards)

    I have been told I run these quickly but the way i do them is a lot of Multi-shot, and a low lvl poison sting (Tab, poison, tab, repeat, keep running, you dont have to stop to shoot Serpent Sting usually rank 3, I dont actually kill the mobs, I run through, tag everything, then let a Explosive trap finish them/let my pet finish them. You can do some pretty big pulls. Another trick i have found and I use in SM Monastery to clear quickly is using Eye of the Beast, I am BM spec'd so my pet can take a lot of damage. I run around as the pet, group up everything i want, run back to myself and drop an Explosive Trap, and hit Beastial Wrath, and just keep spamming Raptor Strike, Wingclip, Kill Command, & Mongoose Strike. Most things go down pretty quickly.

    Another trick is to pet your pet on passive, run around, group the mobs in pulls you can handle, and then back yourself up to a wall, near your alts and drop explosive traps ect. You need to be careful that the mobs are not allowed to circle you, as any mob that can get behind you, cannot miss their attacks, and you loose the bonus of AGI/Dodge ect...

    I am currently Boosting,

    4x Shamans, 2x Mages, 2x Hunters, 2x Priests, 2x Warlocks, and its going pretty quickly, I stick to ones with rested first, and then just clear the instances in that order, and they are lvling pretty quickly. I run Odd instances just for gear occasionally, but these seem to be the best for lvling purposes.

    While I agree that Paladins/Mages are excellent boosters, Hunters with Viper Aspect shouldnt need to ever stop moving in the instances... this can save time to never have to sit down for mana. You can almost take the instances at a run, and just let your pet finish everything. The skill is multi-shoting and poisoning everything before it gets to the alts your dragging, takes some practice, but you can do it pretty quickly.

    A big thing that helps with speed to is not looting everything... it will slow you down a lot. I take the instances at a run and just make sure everything is dead. I do loot personally from ZF up tho, the chances at an epic or just to strong for me. There is a big difference in XP vs Money runs, while looting will keep up repair/gold costs, it also slows the XP/hr a lot. I tend to just loot the bosses for DE material as soon as the shards are worth money.

    Just thoughts, and my pull ways.. hope it helps..

    i have had numerous paladins in the past, my favorite was my prot. so when i made a new 5 box team i knew i would want a prot paladin to boost my newer teams once my first has reached its goal =].

    prot paladins are by far the best boosters. plate-concecrate-holy shield-mana/health judgements-dmging aura. ~_~ it's pretty much the best booster out there for you. sure mages can aoe things quickly.. but what happens if they run out of mana =dead. put them together and its 2x faster. i believe Athene did this on his 1 day 3 hours (or something) record breaking char. just boosted it with a prot paly and mage.

    Before I had my Prot Pally, I had pretty good success with a Disc Priest. Just make sure you don't over pull. Holy Nova starts to lose damage per mob (as do many AoE spells) when you get too many mobs. You just have to play around with it. Damage reflecting power word shield = win.

    The nice thing about Pally consecration is that it isn't limited by it's damage getting reduced when you pull a certain number of mobs!

    Default Boosting

    Of my 3 higher level toons, I would say the hunter is by far my best booster.

    Low level boosting with a priest works well. I let my alts follow right behind me. If they get aggro, I just spam Holy Nova. It kills the low level mobs and heals the alts.

    Low level boosting with a lock wasn't terrible but it wasn't even as good as with my priest. It was slow and time consuming. If I pulled too much, there wasn't much I could do other than hellfire to kill the mobs fast. It wasn't pretty. I won't be doing that ever again and I certainly wouldn't even attempt a higher level instance with her.

    I also boost with my hunter though, and the difference is amazing. It is SOOOO much faster with my hunter. I one shot a lot of mobs with my auto-shot. I've boosted with my hunter up through Scholomance/Stratholme so far. You shouldn't have any problems with it. If I pull too much aggro (on purpose sometimes), I just drop an immolation trap and that takes care of a lot of it. The hunter worked great in ZF, serpent sting them as they come up the stairs, immolation traps at the top of the stairs and pet on aggro. I almost never have an alt die, so not having a rezz'er isn't an issue.

    People always talk about boosting with a pally and that seems fine. From what I've read though, it seems like they have to micromanage a bit and park the alts at specific points along the way. With my hunter, my alts stay on follow. Things die so fast that if an alt grabs aggro for a split second, it doesn't matter.

    My hunter's gear isn't that great. I have a few LW epics, but the rest of my gear is just blues. I don't think you would have any problem using your hunter for boosting.

    I just leave the alts at the door, run to the back of the instance, & bring everything back for RFK & SFK. Seems faster than single targeting everything. For SM I do cath in 4 pulls including the boss & have to move lowbies twice. I doubt a hunter could do that faster/better, but I don't play one so I don't know for sure.

    From what i've seen in RFC/SFK probably just because i'm new at pallies, but:

    Mage = I can 1 pull RFC bosses & those annoying knockdown mobs and all. I can 2 pull SFK everything before the houndmaster & reset.

    Pallys do it safer, but slower because they don't have blink/fn anything to get out in front of the other mobs.

    I'll let you know how it goes in SM.

    So,, basically:
    1. Mage (fastest possible IMO for the low level stuff)
    2. Pally (easier, safer, but slower for everything below SM, but then they start to shine)
    3. Whatever else you got.
    1Priest, 4Mages Qyx, Kwix, Aquix, Cquix, Quixar // 5 Shammies, Quixs, Quixas, Quixbs, Quixcs, Quixds // Quix Inc (Gurubashi PVP)
