what are the benifits to using maximizer

I currently just dual box, a warrior/shaman I just started yesterday and doing o k so far.
The only annoying thing I have found so far is having to switch over to my other instance of WoW [my shaman] to turn in the quest rewards ect.
Would maximizer allow me to just mouse down to the shamans screen and accept quest and trades and loot quest items?
Or would I still need to switch over to the shamans WoW instance to do all that..

Currently I play my main [warrior] on my monitor 20inch widescreen 1680x1050 reso. thats the max for this monitor
and I have my shaman on my widescreen tv next to me which cant go higher than 1280x1024

So would maximizer make looting things ect easier since its on one screen? or does maximizer not allow you to control your secondary character from the main screen..

maximiser would just remove the window borders around your instances of WoW, it has nothing to do with mouse control and movement. It would also allow you to resize your window to outside the normal fixed ratios.

If I understand your question correctly, yes, you can move your mouse to the other client and control it. It would be like having two windows up on your computer, say the internet and a word processor and having them "tiled" where you can click back and forth between the two. And as Awbee said, maximizer will allow you to get the "tiled" affect whereas if you just open the two WoWs independantly, they will only size based on a fixed ratio not allowing them to occupy the full screen while still being able to still see both client windows in their entirety.

Edit: Not sure I understand the differance between "switching over to the shamans instance" and "moving the mouse to the shamans screen". If you move the mouse to the shamans screen and click on it making it the active window, you have switched over to the shamans instance.

describe your setup a bit more please - are you playing 2 clients on one machine/monitor and playing both in full-screen (so alt-tabbing to switch between) or are you playing them in windowed mode and just clicking between the two?

The main reason i use maximizer is i like to be able to position/size my client windows and have them "locked" into place on the screen etc - this allows me to see whats going on on each of the client windows etc.

I'm playing two clients on same computer, and have two monitors. (sorta one is a tv)
I play them both in window mode. So I have to move my mouse to my 2nd monitor and click on it to make it the active one and run around and loot objects.
so I was thinking it would be easier to maybe use maximizer.
and can i use maximizer while in windowed mode? or does it only work in fullscreen

I think you're confused about what maximizer does. All it does is remove the border around a windowed-mode WoW window and let you specify the exact size/location. So instead of having a 1024x768 window with a border and titlebar, you can make a 1000x400 window with no border.

It does not let you control the alt from the main's screen. You'd still have to click on the other window to bring it into focus to do anything on it.

It's also nice to minimize how much FPS are dedicated to background screens, If you only have arn't using 1 powerhouse computer that can handle all the wows. Such in my setup, running 3 wows on my main computer, which all run fairly smoothly so I'm able to keep the fps higher. (If only i had dual screens). Then I run 2 on my laptop, but lower the FPS on the background wow so that I can still relatively run smoothly through towns. Stick the laptop beside my LCD screen, and just pretend...

Then download Tweakui from Microsoft and install it.

Under "Mouse" is the option for x-mouse - enable it. Now, as soon as you mouse over a window it is active. No more need to double click to activate a window and take an action.
