    Default Cleared BFD ... meh

I just finished it, all the quests except for the collection quest and the one that sends you back in to kill Lorgus Jett. It wasn't too exciting, which was disappointing because I remember loving BFD! I was only a single-boxer last time I went, and probably not as well-geared, and probably before the big nerfing of pre-TBC instances. This time I hit it with my 24 prot pally, 22 priest and three 23 warlocks. All but one warlock dinged in the instance, and both the Witch's Finger and Gravestone Scepter are very worthwhile, so it certainly wasn't a mathematical loss. It just wasn't very fun.

The bit of broken floor you have to jump three times to get past -- annoying even in a party of single-boxers, because there's always that *one guy who keeps missing the jump, occasionally me -- was pretty obnoxious with five toons to worry about. Alt-tab, jump, jump, jump, alt-tab, jump, jump, jump. I was happy to get past it, and hoped I wouldn't wipe and have to do it again. Fortunately I didn't wipe -- but unfortunately, Lightbringer hiccupped and kicked us all off, and when I got back in, only the priest was in the instance and everyone else had to be re-invited and alt-tab, jump, jump, jump, alt-tab, etc. I pined for that spot in Wailing Caverns, in the passage leading toward Serpentis, where it looks like there's a gap but actually is totally walkable and doesn't need to be jumped.

It must have been a combination of nerfs and gear, because my reasonably-leveled toons steamrolled the instance. I started off pulling carefully and gently, letting the pally get aggro before applying dots, but this was obviously way too careful for BFD so I ended up letting the locks pull, Consecrate, and go through the usual motions. I talented the priest with Holy Nova when he dinged, which turned out to be the highlight of the instance and was actually a lot of fun to use in these sloppy pulls. It shined on the one major challenge of the run, the horde of non-elite crawlers you summon with the brazier. I forgot about it at first, just Consecrating and hoping. Then ... I remembered! I have a Holy Mage with me! Noooo problem.

So far I've done RFC, WC and SFK, all multiple times, farming gear and multi-boxing experience. There seems to be some decent gear left in BFD but I think I'll call it good here, enjoy my memories of a deadlier BFD, and start picking at RFK. Which I also remembered loving. Here's hoping.

If you pass the space bar across you can do them all together like me

If you want it like old times, just have your priest sign off cause has to take care of kids. Have your pally body pull like 4 mobs, and then back into 4 more and then yell HEAL ME, then have him bubble. Have your warlocks fear a mob into 3 others. Those should remind you what it was like with normal PUGs.

Also, if you go to the walkway just before the jump, you can walk along the shoreline towards the turtle and you can completely walk over to the other part with no jumps at all.

You don't have to jump over that annoying step. BFD is one of my favs. I have a BFD vid on my site you watch to see the trick to get around it.

BFD is always been one of my favorites , boosted many toons in there before I really learned how to multibox the way you all do, anyway the reply above is very accurate , no need to jump at all. And it makes it way easier.

I did BFD for the very first time ever yesterday. Alliance doesn't go there too often so I have never really been there before with any of my other chars. My team is 1xPaladin + 4xPriest. The parts of the instance I did was very easy at my level (5x24, had been grinding DM/SFK too much) but there was LOADS of trash when clearing up to Kelris.

After killing Kelris I stood in front of a locked door and didn't know what to do. I saw 4 flames that I could click so I spam clicked all of them and 100000 mobs spawned on me. Oops! I ran back (10 minute corpse run FTL) and all the mobs were still there linked in 2 huge packs. Managed to kill one but the other pack just owned me too bad.

Didn't want to reset the instance as it was too long for me so I just called it then. Went to do some Stockades grinding afterwards which was alot better xp/hour. Going to hit RFK today.

I never did BFD before boxing and was super pleased when I found a quest giver in there telling me I was going to have 5 new fabulous shields! Just got them this morning. Holy crap I was so happy! That was a pretty cool instance. One thing I like about it is how spread out it is. It seems you can target specific bosses instead of having to kill everything alone the way.
